I'm looking forward to it starting again. I've been working my way through the DVDs so am pleased the new ones start soon.

And they say we'll eventually find out who Red John is this series!

The creepy one is the earnest white haired chap

Pixel · 13/05/2014 23:08

I thought that at first, but now I think he's just keen and a bit nerdy.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 14/05/2014 00:51

The boyfriend's too nice, I'm suspicious. Even in real life he would seem too good to be true!

Lisbon wasn't the only one with a tear in her eye at the end

Loving this again at the moment! How does Jane manage to be so smug and yet so likeable?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 18/05/2014 23:14

Just thought I'd warn you to be careful - the finale will be shown in America in a couple of hours, so watch out for any spoilers!

OP posts:
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 20/05/2014 22:29

The way he looked at her then, it made my heart flip-flop, goodness knows what it did to her!

He definitely loves her.

Nerf · 20/05/2014 22:47

This is genuinely the most stupid plot ever. As if this would happen.
God knows what the writers are on.

Nerf · 20/05/2014 22:49

They are all so stupid. Actually as if the bloke wouldn't realise it was a mock up.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 20/05/2014 23:21

I'm still lost as to when they actually caught Anthony, did I miss something? Confused

I don't know, he was just coming around from being drugged, so might have been less sharp than usual? I didn't find it all that believable, how did they know the tattoo font?

That sofa moment made it for me though, and the girl being reunited with her sister Smile

OP posts:
Pixel · 20/05/2014 23:21

Don't forget he was still partly drugged and confused though.

Pixel · 20/05/2014 23:22

cross post!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/05/2014 01:08

The only one I remember thinking was completely unrealistic was the one where he'd drank drugged tea and began hallucinating rabbits and his daughter. I mean I know hallucinations are obviously fairly unrealistic, but that was the only one I think where I felt the balance was wrong.

He has done similar before to get confessions, mind games etc., but I can't think of an example off the top of my head.

Oh yes I can - the one where they changed all the clocks. Not exactly the same, but exactly the same principle.

It's just do completely unclever and 'mentalist' and just horrible, unlikely, sackable tactics!
Agree re rabbits episode.
This was soooo clever when it started.
I will hate it if Lisbon and jane have a thing. So obvious.

springydaffs · 21/05/2014 09:05

Oh I get it, they got the OW in because they're dumping Lisbon from the show. So the OW is in the wings and we've been forced to watch the handover and now it's all ready for some fresh will they/won't they action (he took his wedding off for her, remember).

It's all so obvious and clunky. I liked the rabbits episode because they were all our friends and they could take us where they liked. Now it's all slick and computerised (CSI-esque?) and ridiculous, and Rigsby and van Pelt have been dumped because they're too parochial. What was wrong with van Pelt being the computer genius despite her fringe ? Now it's all men apart from the love/sex interest. I assume Cho's hard-man thing fits in, he must be breathing a sigh of relief.

I'm only watching it to see the gorgeous Simon Baker but I'm seriously disappointed.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 21/05/2014 11:00

I haven't seen anything about her going (I had for the other two), although she might go before the next series I suppose. I won't Google now because I don't want to see spoilers!

I really really hope that doesn't happen though. I think the only reason he and Lisbon seem at all possible is that they've worked together for so long and know each other so well. He tends to be quite detached, it's only really her he has a 'deeper' relationship with, and I'm not sure he realised what it was like until he knew she was leaving.

I don't think it would work with Fisher (Fischer?), or would have to be in a very different way at any rate. They don't have that 'background' closeness.

And I still think there's something too good to be true about Pike. He was really pressurising her to go this week.

On another note, I don't know whether it's the desk layout, or just the FBI-ness, but we don't see as much of them as a whole team any more, you see them in twos or threes which I don't like as much. I liked them all together more. Sad

Season finale tonight Smile

OP posts:
PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/05/2014 21:46

Cho did not have a clue did he?

Slightly concerned this is turning into Love Actually though Confused

OP posts:
CountBapula · 27/05/2014 22:46

Okay, all very silly but I loved it

Simon Baker is so utterly delectable.

Not sure where they can go with it now, though. Hope it won't be like Frasier after Niles and Daphne got together and it went really shit.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 27/05/2014 23:29

I sniffled a bit too

He has the most gorgeous smile.

I think they had to get together really, whether it works out or it doesn't. I think they've written it to the point where there wasn't much else that could be done. I've seen it happen in real life too, where people's relationship has reached the point they have to at least try going out because they're at a funny more-than-friends stage and are too dependent upon each other to be 'just' friends any more.

OP posts:
springydaffs · 28/05/2014 00:04

Yes, delectable

It all went so fast, and was so unexpected, I barely took it in I was so excited (I'm embarrassed to say). Funny episode at last, lots of quirky humour ("Dude!" when some guy interrupted him getting to the airport). I liked the Harry met Sally-esque moment: "Honey, there isn't a woman on this plane who isn't green with envy"... with Lisbon wearing emerald green, which was a bit weird. (Who is the costume person? The clothes are just so strange a lot of the time. The only one whose clothes are cool is Mr Baker.)

It was me snogging him, of course.

Pixel · 28/05/2014 16:30

That smile gets me every time Blush. What am I going to do without my Patrick fix? Am still feeling quite traumatised by last-night's episode, all that soul-baring at the end.

A bit Hmm though about the FBI man giving the keys to his 'with siren' car to someone who had obviously drunk most of the contents of the mini bar!

CountBapula · 28/05/2014 19:44

Not that I'm fangirling him, oh no

Pixel · 28/05/2014 19:53

I've got a duffle coat, it's fate!

springydaffs · 30/05/2014 00:40

Ah, so he's in charge of his character, clothes etc. Could he get more attractive?

Mind you, wearing duffle coat under the studio lights? Bit posey. (I'm allowed to say this)

Nerf · 30/05/2014 10:03

Omg I thought it wasn't doable but that clip has totally killed dead my live for simon baker.
Expensive highlights coupled with faux careless stubble and duffle = vain. Plus the falling back in smiling all twinkly when he was getting boring.
Oh well. There's always Sherlock...
