Yes there seems to only be 600 ish pupils on roll so they must have many surplus places. I thought the Y11 assembly looked small.

Not making any excuses, the teachers there looked absolutely great and I admire the Head, but in a small school, it's easier to give individual kids your attention. We have 250 in each year group. Despite my best intentions, the quieter ones do get 'swallowed up' sometimes.
