I know it's been shit for ages but its just dire atm. I'm a bit behind and stopped watching when bunhead Lauren was getting drunk. Switched back on and she's back from rehab. Was her rehab in the Maldives? I'm sick to the back teeth of her and joey. What a mockery they've made of teen drinking showing her recovered. She's a terrible actress.

Lucy is weird and for an eastender she's got a v posh accent. As has bobby. And Dennis. And Sharon.

And I really don't like how every victim of sexual abuse is portrayed as promiscuous. In one episode we see Kat dragging a guy into an alley for a quickie and Whitney getting into a car with strange men. Not every child victim is like kat and bloody Whitney. Utter tosh. I need another long break from it. I only came back to it cos corrie is terrible these days.

Twintery Cindy is the daughter of Ian's late ex-wife and her boyfriend.

ooooohhh.
That partly explains Ian's indifference.
Maybe I will look her up, rather than ask more questions!

Yes, that is why Ian keeps saying things like 'you are not my responsibility'. I think she lived with her grandmother before coming to Walford. She is a sad little soul though isn't she? Even her half-brother and sister don't care about her at all, which makes the fact that she wants to keep the baby more believable.

Tried to google her. Couldnt find hardly anything.
I have other questions but no one has to answer them!
Where is mum Cindy [dont say in Corrie!], dead?
And her natural dad?
I missed the week she joined, dont watch absolutely all episodes, and nothing much seems to be said about her.
Can understand why she wants to keep the baby.

Cindy the mum is dead - I think she died in childbirth. She was in prison at the time due to her taking her children to Italy and being on the run from the police for trying to get Ian killed. I don't know if her natural dad is still alive - he was her mum's bf at the time.

Isn't David Cindy's dad? Wasn't he having an affair with Cindy senior who then got sent to prison for having Ian shot and Cindy junior was born in prison? But if that were true she'd have just shagged her nephew Liam...

Cindy was dating David before she went on the run to Italy. She got pregnant while she was there so it couldn't be his as he came back. I think David helped her leave the UK.

Cindy junior dad was Cindy senior Italian boyfriend. She was living with granny and for some unknown reason twins went down to see her/spend summer with her and she came back

Think they are Indifferent as Cindy junior stole money (10k) when they all went away - plus maybe as their mum Cindy senior died when giving birth to Cindy junior

So no relation to Ian or David at all - so I would send her back to granny or to dad in Italy

Grin You are harsh to the fictional Cindy!

I think the twins went to stay with granny so they could get new heads Grin .

Going away for a few months from a soap is always potentially dangerous!

You are right, it is. The funny thing is though, is that no-one bats an eyelid when the actors are re-cast, but then it would be equally strange if they did comment on their new appearance. A new actor always feels like a new character and it takes a while to get used to them. I think that is why characters like Phil and Sharon are so good as they have been played by the same actors for so many years.

Speaking of Sharon, why does she keep going all bog-eyed?

I think she was in Pride And Prejudice, playing Mrs Bennet's sister.

But I also thought Carl's mum was in some kind of nursing home, so I may not be the most reliable source of information.

Good old Google:
Lynn Farleigh is perhaps best known for playing Helen Wycliffe in Wycliffe, Krupskaya opposite Patrick Stewart's Lenin in the historical BBC drama Fall of Eagles, and the glamorous Vivien Ashton (codename Solange) in the second series of the LWT secret agent series Wish Me Luck broadcast in 1989.

Some of her other screen appearances since 1964 include: The Rivals, Eyeless in Gaza, Bill Brand, Steptoe and Son, Murder Most English, Z-Cars in which she played Ann Fazakerley, the 1978 drama series Out, the 1978 film Watership Down and Bad Girls.

She portrayed Mrs Bennet's sister, Mrs Phillips, in the 1995 BBC version of Pride and Prejudice.

Yes! Brecon - you're right! It's coming back to me now! Carl was trying to make Kirsty feel guilty by talking about how frail and ill his mother was, didn't they go and visit her in the home together? Hmm

Yes Carl's mum was in a nursing home.... How is she suddenly walking around happily?! Confused

Isn't it strange how Carl's phone still has charge even though the last time he could have charged it was about 3 months ago?

Report
Amandine29 · 11/03/2014 11:31

I thought that about his phone still being charged.

Carl's mum was Mark's mum in Peep Show
