Federer has withdrawn from montreal citing a back injury-rare for him.

I think Rafa's pretty much got this won. Sock was going quite well till that tie break. Is having a bit of a 'mare in the third set now.

Ahh, I got confused. It's ferrerwho is due to meet Sock. Bit it's looking unlikely. Rafa will get a rematch with Isner, or Kohlshreiber might pull something out of the bag.

The real John Isner has just won the second set to level the score against kolschreiber. Could be either of those two going through.

Do you normally have to refresh it or does it refresh itself. I'm using the slam tracker from the site and that seems to be working OK.

There's an awful lot of tall players on the tour at the moment. Commentary could get very confusing if they're going to mix them up on that basis.

Dan Evans is on now. That ATP rankings site shows just how well he's done to get this far. He's ranked 46 places behind the next lowest ranked player still left in the tournament.

Didn't see any of dan Evans match but he took it to four sets so must have played pretty well.

Didn't see any tennis last night. I was in bed at 7pm. I tell you - older mothers? Hats off to you as I do not have the energy for it all this time around. I am glad mine came along while I was young and broken nights sleeping or no sleep at all was no problem at all.

Anyhow I will skip tonight as I have college starting tomorrow and need to be somewhat alert for day 1. I think there is a sports event we have to do as a bonding thing with the rest of the block so I clearly have to win that even if I cheat as that's just how it is...

I will be back on tennis - for absolute certain from Thursday night on which is coming towards end of tournament so I will catch the main games. I have got that right, right?

Shame about Evans- but it was a good run for him. I hope he can keep up the momentum. All to often we have players who get through a couple of rounds of a slam, believe the hype and sink like a stone. But Evans has been working on his attitude and work ethic, as much as his game. So it might be the start of good things.

My two youngest go back to school this week and I have that horrid "end of holiday" feeling upon me today.

Farley my older two go back Tuesday- I'm more worried we will never wake up

To be honest, dd1 is a bit fed up and ready to go back. We don't live close to her school friends, and most have been away all summer. Ds is ok, as a number of his mates live round here, and he spends all day on his bike, but he's older. They have had a couple of outings, courtesy of grandparents, but it's been another fairly dull summer for them. I hope we win the lottery before next year. Would be nice to at least buy an ice-cream without worrying.

But we made good use of the last day of free swimming at the pool this morning, even if getting up early killed me.

I should get an early night, as I'm not too fussed by today's matches- and hope Nadal is on early tomorrow. Don't think the school would be happy with 'sorry we're late on the first day, was up refreshing my pc screen during a tennis match'

Aww, Baghdatis is losing to Wawrinka . I like Marcus, but I like Stan too, so not too bad.
