Yes she did Elderflower, I can't warm to her at all, very surprised Les made it through.

I like Speech. And she can cook.

I like Speech too and I prefer her food to anybody else's in this series. She comes across as quite unflappable.
Les creeps me out and I still don't really know who he is and what he is famous for.

I've missed this week. TV problems. Looking forward to seeing Janet again.

I think Joe did "the wanker" gesture thing as he left the programme.

That fucking Emma does my head in when she samples the food. What an annoying charmless woman.

I like speech but I still hate Greg. He's horrible, he's got no palette and likes everything.

Oh is that what it was Cuckoomama, Grin haha I though it was the yessss thingy because he was thrown out, I wouldn't imagine John or Gregg would be happy with that.

Cuckoomama · 24/08/2013 21:55

Certainly looked like it when I checked it out. Up until then I thought he seemed ok, but now I think he's a bit of a knob jockey,(pardon the pun).

just found this thread so thought I'd join in Smile I agree with most of the comments on here...but don't understand why anyone likes Janet, yes she can cook but she has got such a nasty attitude fx she leaves before the final she really drives me mad! I think speech is quite good though hope she makes it through, she really seems to try and cares about her food!

Speech or shame to win!

Report
Gracelo · 29/08/2013 13:51

Yeah, I'd be happy with either one as winner.
I don't think I have seen so much open competitiveness on MC before like last night.

I thought it was unfair to give them pike when the other team had salmon. I've never had pike but I assume it is rather muddy tasting.
That tarte Tatin that Ade made looked burned, I didn't fancy it at all. Would have preferred the mulled fruit.

Shane is really quite funny and comes across as rather nice. Their entire team just looked so calm and relaxed. It made a nice change from the usual mayhem that the mass catering challenges turn into.

You make it sound very attractive Smile
I wonder how it usually would have been cooked or did people only eat it because there wasn't much choice?

I honestly don't know why Les is still there, he hadn't a clue how to cook the salmon and kept asking the others, I'm going off Ade, he seems a bit stuck up, I think Denise should have been given a chance as she did so well before last night and Les should have been drop kicked out the door. I like Shane because he doesn't get in a flap and looks at John with an expression that says "chill man, it will all get done".

Janet is a great cook to be fair, but she has a strange attitude to people, although I do like the way she puts Greg down and it always sounds like she is calling him CraigSmile. Her lamb pie thing was not presented nicely no matter what they said, but it would probably be hard to present that in a nice way.

As for the pike [puke]

I googled for recipes and according to Thomasina Miers it is considered a delicacy in France, hmm. I also just realized that pike is what's called Hecht in German and it's eaten there as well. I can't remember that I ever ate it, though.

Most things do taste better with garlic, I draw a line at eating snails though. I dissected one sometime early on in my biology degree. It was vile. There was mucus everywhere.

Caoilainn · 29/08/2013 19:35

The word mucus makes me shudder. It's up there with moist.
