Oh wow ! We have
!
Thanks very much, MNHQ.
Gutted for Rafa, of course. Have to say, Steve played really well, and was so lovely afterwards, saying that he felt he played well, but knew that if Rafa was fit he wouldn't have beat him...a very nice guy, I thought.
Must admit I'm very concerned for Rafa, cos I think that's the US Open out, and possibly the rest of the year, depending on what's going on. He quite clearly from his press conference didn't want to talk about the knee, love that he was his usual gracious self and won't 'blame' anything other than his opponent played better tennis which is why he lost.
I have that niggly feeling that maybe it's the beginning of the end, maybe we will start hearing talk of retirement....if his knee/s is/are that bad, I don't see how he can continue playing at top level, unless he does what he has done this year and plays to win RG ?
Sad to think that maybe his body is starting to say 'enough', and may hasten his end.
Brilliant match from Hewitt, he played some great tennis ! It would be nice to see him do well.
I had a feeling that there would be an upset today, and after the 2nd set with Rafa I knew it would be him going. Just didn't look like the same guy who won RG...
Wonder if there will be an upset tomorrow ? Novak isn't fully fit, I wonder if perhaps this year we will have a winner from out of the top 5 ?
Roll on tomorrow.
