Am SO annoyed with Game Of Thrones!

I watched the most recent episode last night so if you haven't then THERE WILL BE SPOILERS!!!

The ending pissed me off no end! I started with OMG, then when to WTF and ended up with "fuckin hell" on repeat! Hmm Angry

I now have no real idea what is going on, who I'm meant to invest in or generally where it is going now. I get SO fed up of getting attached to characters in it and thn they suddenly get hacked to bits!

I'm not really sure I want to bother watching it any more - it seems to flit from one thing to another - dyre wolves, dragons, spirit walking in animals, blah blah blah. I will be mega pissed off if I watch all the series and in the end everybody dies!

Am I alone in being pissed off? Confused

:)

thurlow I personally agree with that theory and I think that it will get confirmed through Bran in the long run (the whole three eyed crow thing, again don't want to say too much) Although I've seen plenty of commenters on youtube who disagree and have a lot of theories about who Jon's mother is (but they're not suggesting L)

I can't remember which character thought about needing moon tea. The reference rings a very faint bell, but I can't place it. PM me the name? Grin

I think that Arya comes into her wolf dreams later than bran because she got separated from Nymeria. I seem to recall that she didn't start having the dreams till well after she left King's Landing, and she'd headed north again. Mind you that doesn't explain why she still gets the dreams when she's far further away than King's Landing actually so that theory goes out the water Grin

Thurlow · 05/06/2013 11:55

He'll have to pull a bloody impressive twist out of the bag for that theory to not be true, I think. There's so many clues. Also I'm trying to work out who the 'three' are - Dany, obviously, another character I've just met in 5.1 (OMG!) and then... well, too spoilery, but I think you can guess who I'm thinking of.

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 05/06/2013 11:56

I also wonder if Jon was an only child....

RussiansOnTheSpree · 05/06/2013 12:03

Queen - she was trying to build a 'pack' almost as soon as she left Kings Landing with whatsisname, bound for the wall. Yorrick? Her 'pack' was Gendry and Hot Pie. That was probably something to do with her feeling her inner wolf.

I think the whole R+L=J may or may not be true but is a red herring. I think it's far more relevant to consider other members of the royal family and other houses. We keep getting told that who loved who back in the day is still important. And it keeps driving the narrative.

RussiansOnTheSpree · 05/06/2013 12:09

Thurlow Nah, he's a ringer. Illaryo Mopatis is far too fond of him. Grin The other one - God yes. But there's more - wait till you read what Selmy has to say about the old days.

I'm pretty sure that Dany doesn't have 2 full siblings. Although obviously all are Targs since their mother was.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 05/06/2013 12:16

I've just finished the second book and have been torturing myself with what will happen with Arya and Daenyris and who Jon's parents are. Not convinced Ned was his father at all.

Can't wait to start book three.

MsIngaFewmarbles · 05/06/2013 12:18

Is GRRM still writing the books? Are there seven in total so far? Does anything get explained by then? What on earth is going to happen at Joffrey's wedding? Will he finally get his comeuppance? Love love love it :)

RussiansOnTheSpree · 05/06/2013 12:25

yes. Sort of - 1, 2, 3a and b, 4, 5a and b (in paperback). No, not really. Practically nothing anyway.

CoffeeandNumbers · 05/06/2013 12:32

Arghhhh too many clues and hints!!! Shhhhhuuushhhh!!!

Me and dh hadn't watched an episode Until about 2 weeks ago, but have watched all 3 seasons and are now up to date with sky. I think we managed to do it over a few nights watching 4/5 back to back. I was suprised its been that gripping! I was fully prepared to dismiss it as another overhyped HBO series.

I think I'm going to get started on the books over the summer.

I thought Catelyns throught being cut was the worst part, not the baby stabbing and I'm due on Saturday. hard bitch

Is anyone else completely pissed off with Bran and thinks he's a moany little shit? I have no love or sympathy for that boy. I'd rather he had been killed off!

Thurlow · 05/06/2013 12:36

But even a ringer could be enough, if everyone goes for it.

I'm really trying not to think about all this too much as it's going to be about 10 years before Martin finishes the series Grin

Who is it who is supposed to know about Jon? I seem to remember hearing a suggestion that Jojen's dad(?) at Moat Cailin might know the truth, but I'm sure there were one or two others who might know. Varys, obviously!

RussiansOnTheSpree · 05/06/2013 12:44

Varys doesn't know about Jon. For sure. Nobody does, because everyone who did, is dead. Jon Connington might have known I suppose (and ooh look, is that co-incidence or design, hmmm?) but you'd think, if he had known, he would have done something, unless he was so eaten up with jealousy that he could help who he thought was the duty child but not the love one.

Lot's of online speculation about Howland Reed knowing all sorts of everything. No basis for this speculation though, having said that if some of the key events transpired in his boggy domain then Bran can presumably see them, at some point. But that would be super pervy.

RussiansOnTheSpree · 05/06/2013 12:48

Thurlow - everyone may go for the ringer right up until the dragons come swooping in and melt him. After that, not so much. Grin

Or he might go zombie. Imagine an entire zombie army camped at Griffin's roost.........

It's all about the zombies.

Fore melts ice, what does it do to stone? The stone zombies are the inheritors of Valarya post Doom, right? And they are fine with water too.

Obviously none of this will happen. Grin

Thurlow · 05/06/2013 12:55

BlatantRedhead · 05/06/2013 13:51

I read the 1st and 2nd book before series 3 started and decided not to read book 3 until after it ends so the Red Wedding was a massive shock. DP and I were sat there in horror, hands over mouth, couldn't look away. Robb and Catelyn have never been my favourites, in fact I quite dislike Catelyn, but we weren't expecting them to die! And it was so brutal! I can't think what's going to happen to Winterfell and the North now! Time to give up trying to guess and finish reading the books that are out so far!

Also, I personally have a theory about Jon Snow and if he dies and my theory is not confirmed or denied I shall be Very Cross. SO GRRM, you have been warned...

QueenofDreams · 05/06/2013 14:26

Russian hadn't seen anything about Howland Reed. But I guess if they've got the green dreams in the family (presumably Jojen wasn't the first to have it) then maybe they could know more than they let on. Also bear in mind that Howland was friends with Ned, and actually was with him in that key time, so maybe he is in the know.

coffee I love Bran. But he finds out about his gifts much sooner in the books, and he's far more comfortable with them by the point we are now than he is on screen. There's even a bit in the book where he talks to Jon in a dream, but that seems to have been left out of the series.

As for the 'three heads' thing. I'm going with Daenarys, A (who we meet later in the books, if he is who he says he is) and one other who shall not be named.

Also whoever said about sibling with the same mother as Dany - AFAIK she doesn't have any. She has possible relatives, but not siblings as they aren't the children of her parents.

Thurlow · 05/06/2013 14:40

I was getting confused about her siblings too, glad someone else is.

I now want to know who 'one other who shall not be named' could be! Is it someone I've met by halfway through 5.1 (have not long met YG)? Is it the theory we've been talking about before?

QueenofDreams · 05/06/2013 15:01

Theory Thurlow, I just don't want to say too explicitly for fear of spoilage!

Thurlow · 05/06/2013 15:21

I thought it was that.

I know we should start a proper thread but I'm too scared to go on them until I've finished 5.2...

RussiansOnTheSpree · 05/06/2013 15:56

Queen - Dany is supposed to be the child of Mad Aerys and Rhaella, sister to Rhaegar and Viserys. She certainly is the child of Rhaella as are the other two - the births were well witnessed.

QueenofDreams · 05/06/2013 16:48

Yes, but both Rhaegar and Viserys are dead. She has no living siblings is perhaps what I should have said.

CoffeeandNumbers · 05/06/2013 16:48

Wibu to ask you not to start this thread until I'm caught up with the books? Grin

also, i can't believe Jon Snow abandoned his bit of rough when it all kicked off...what's all that about? Does he come back for her? I thought he was a gent, doing that thing with his tongue and all that, but no he really is a bastard Sad

RussiansOnTheSpree · 05/06/2013 16:56

Queen - when I said I'm pretty sure Dany DOESN'T have perhaps I should say Dany NEVER had.

I think there is a Targ with two Targ sibs though.

QueenofDreams · 05/06/2013 17:19

Ah but coffee he really cares about her, but he's stuck. He's so torn because of his conflicting loyalties. Besides which the wildlings would kill him. I think he really does care for her, but he's in a very difficult position.

QueenofDreams · 05/06/2013 17:20

I'm confused Russians are you suggesting that either Dany or her sibs were not the children of Aerys? It seems unlikely as they all had the traits - hair and eyes, and in Viserys's case being completely bonkers.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 05/06/2013 17:30

Oh, I loved it! (But I can see that watching it pregnant would be bad!)

I particularly love the way you cannot invest in any one character because he is prepared to kill off just about anyone!
