Am halfway through series 5 now (fat Bet depresses me) and have started watching it again as dd has started watching it. Watched the Babylon episode (where at the end it shows Roger and Joan getting dressed in silence in the hotel room) and was quite astonished at how moving and film-llke it seems. I didn't notice that first time around. Anyway it's quite entertaining as dd swoons whenever Don is on the screen and I screech 'Don Draper is a prick' to educate her

It seems such a shame that it has seemingly lost its way in the latest series.

And dd told me that Kinsey was the chubby gay guy who was Lindsay Lohan's friend in Mean Girls

Julia Ormond is 48. Just about old enough to play (26 year old) Meghan's mother, although the point is I guess she is supposed to look very alluring.

Although he is now long gone, I thought Jared Harris was fantastic as Lane Pryce

I thought Lane was a great character. Very sad when he went. Wasn't his wife played by the actress from Schindler's List?

I adore Lane. Jared harris plays him beuatifully. He was such a cold fish ostensibly but very warm underneath, as far as he could be. I found it so distressing when his father was so violent to him. Poor Lane.

Lane's wife is Embeth Davidtz who was Goeth's maid in Schindlers list, I wondered who she was until veRy recently.

I have been very bad and watched a copy of Ep 11. It was fantastic!

I watched a couple of episodes of series 1 again last night with dd.

I am loving watching it again and appreciating it. Laughed at Pete taking back the chip and dip bowl and Trudy shouting at him when he swapped it for a gun. And LOVED when Don got Roger deliberately drunk and tipped the lift boy to stop the lift in order to make Roger walk up the stairs and make him sick. All as revenge for his trying it on with Betty. The evil smile on Don's face at the end, we both roared.

Sorrel You can't go sneaking ahead like that! Fantastic eh? I'm looking forward to it now. Got to have something to look forward to now that Game of Thrones has finished. How many do we have left of this season?
