So excited. We're we starting to see cracks in the marriage last season? I hope we see more of Betty this time.

Sorry I got confused. I thought her relationship with Kinsey was in between Roger but I think I've just decided that in my head. Grin

I would have loved a Joan and Don affair at one point but not anymore. She is far too good for him.

MarshaBrady · 25/05/2013 19:21

Or used to.. it's true he's going down hill. Poor sausage.

He was good when he was swimming a lot.

IdaBlankenship · 25/05/2013 19:24

In the scene in the bar with Joan and Don last season after they had taken the sports car out, there was an insinuation of a past mutual attraction between them, but I don't think anything would happen between them nowadays - I reckon there's more chance of a Don/Peggy liaison than a Don/Joan one (and I don't think the former is likely at all)

Kneedeepindaisies · 25/05/2013 19:27

I agree Ida. Peggy knows that Don is losing it. I can't believe anyone sane would be interested now.

Can you imagine Rachel or Bobbi being interested in Don now? I really don't think they would even consider it.

IdaBlankenship · 25/05/2013 19:43

Me either. Don was always cool, calm and in control. He is now erratic and drinking way too much.
I don't know why Sylvia has affected him so much, he has had way more interesting past lovers and he hasn't mourned them much (except Rachel - he was sad when she dumped him).

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper · 25/05/2013 20:00

Gotta love a good dance routine on MM - can't wait for that.

I found the Don-Sylvia hotel scenes really uncomfortable viewing, and a palpable sense of relief when she finished with him. It would have been a total downward spiral for her, had she accepted his behaviour.

Don is definitely heading somewhere dark in this series. During last week's hotel shenanigans, my DH said, 'he's a weirdo'. Which, really, has never been the adjective Don Draper conjured up in previous series! Grin Tortured, messed up, contemplative, secretive, mysterious, in control, ruthless, unfeeling, brilliant, creative, suave, sexy - a whole host of other things, but never weirdo! That's a massive fall from grace for him.

IdaBlankenship · 25/05/2013 20:23

Yeah - in the hotel scenes he was sweaty and seedy, not the charmer we know and love.

Kneedeepindaisies · 25/05/2013 20:25

Why is he so sweaty?

DonDrapersAltrEgoBigglesDraper · 25/05/2013 20:34

Alcohol?

Kneedeepindaisies · 25/05/2013 20:41

That's what I thought but apart from the session with Ted I don't think he's drinking more than previous seasons.

I may need to just accept this isn't real life

IdaBlankenship · 25/05/2013 20:42

Maybe he has given up his cotton undies and is embracing the 60's love of nylon

Kneedeepindaisies · 27/05/2013 09:08

I have just read a Mad Men spoiler. Aargh!!! Can't believe it!

IdaBlankenship · 27/05/2013 09:11

Me too - literally 20 seconds ago. Totally by accident - I am so pissed off!

Kneedeepindaisies · 27/05/2013 09:12

I wish I could remove it from my brain.

I don't mind if I'm looking for spoilers but I wasn't.

IdaBlankenship · 27/05/2013 09:14

DM - sidebar of shame? I guess I deserve it for even looking at that site...

Kneedeepindaisies · 27/05/2013 09:17

Ha! That will teach us!

I am quite excited to watch Wednesday but wish I could have been surprised.

Lighthousekeeping · 27/05/2013 13:46

I'm not looking. I'm not looking.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 27/05/2013 14:31

Do we find out why he's so sweaty?!

IdaBlankenship · 27/05/2013 14:53

I'm keeping schtum....

GetOrfMoiLand · 27/05/2013 14:59

Don and Joan have a very healthy relationship (for him anyway). They were very funny when they laughed in the hospital after the bloke had his foot cut off by the lawnmower, and when Don won the award and they were holding hands with nerves under the table.

I agree with you about Roger, arse as he is he is at least warm and engaging. Don is just unpleasant all the way thorough, and as cold as ice.

Kneedeepindaisies · 27/05/2013 15:35

Accidental Grin

If only we could find that out!

GetOrfMoiLand · 27/05/2013 16:03

That is really remiss of the DM to do that - it says spoiler but you can see what happens from the thumbnails.

Not that I care personally as I spoilt any suspense for myself by reading the entirety of Tomand Lorenzo when watching series 1 a few months ago, but it is crap for everyone else I think.

Kneedeepindaisies · 27/05/2013 16:18

Just another reason to stop going on the DM website.

Lighthousekeeping · 27/05/2013 17:04

He's sweaty because he's over weight and drinking too much. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him a heart scare. I hope not because I couldn't face anymore flashbacks.

My wine is just breathing. Don't let me down tonight.
