So excited. We're we starting to see cracks in the marriage last season? I hope we see more of Betty this time.

OP posts:
IdaBlankenship · 23/05/2013 20:12

Whaaaaaaat was that? I'm all confused. Although a couple of moments did make me laugh out loud - Ken's epic tap dancing and Don's running around the office and then casually strolling in the door.
I could have done without the flashbacks - I think we've seen enough of the best little whorehouse of Don's inner turmoil now.
Oh, and I thought Don was going to keel over with a heart attack on the stairs when he was looking at Ted's secretary... do you reckon his hard living is going to bite him on the ass soon?

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:15

I watched the tap dancing on YouTube and roared.

What do I know, I am still on series 4. But I love Megan. Probably because she is so beautiful

I cried when Peggy congratulated Pete on Trudie's pregnancy,

Sorry for being dull and taking about an episode 2 series behind all you lot but I don't know anyone in RL to obsess over this with.

I watched an episode with dd tonight and she SWOONED over Don Draper and I looked at her in horror. Bloody hell!

Kneedeepindaisies · 23/05/2013 20:16

I think Tom and Lorenzo are just as confused as us.

I've deleted it but I think I need to watch it again.

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:16

I used to think Peggy was tiresome and now I love her.

IdaBlankenship · 23/05/2013 20:17

GetOrf - that's my favourite moment (I'm sure I've mentioned it earlier on this thread) - when Pete and Peggy catch eyes as she is leaving the office and all the men are congratulating him. They share such a warm, intimate and sad look. It made me cry first time I saw it Blush

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:18

Tom and Lorenzo's latest posts are. Bit confused. It's all 'yeah we said a load of stuff about blue and green but actually it might not mean anything but on the other hand it might and they are just messing with us'

I am afraid TLo have affected my life. I nearly wrote 'bitches' on a work email today. Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:19

Yes, that is exactly the bit I cried at, when she is getting in the lift with her Scooby Doo friends. It was such a poignant moment.

MarshaBrady · 23/05/2013 20:20

Megan is fabulous when she first appears. She's not even in it that much.

Betty was the best one, now a two bit part.

I'm tempted to start from the beginning (again) to see Don looking good again.

And Pete without the odd hair. Roger and the other partner haven't changed much.

IdaBlankenship · 23/05/2013 20:25

I wish we saw more of the more minor characters. I'm loving Stan this season, and also Ginsberg. There needs to be more Joan and Pete as well. I miss Sal - can't they bring him back?

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:26

She just looks so striking, Megan.

But Betty is stunning. Think it's a but strange that some people have said that she is a poor actress, I think she acts brittle and childish utterly brilliantly.

I have done a complete turnaround from my original dislike of the programme and everyone in it, am very thankful that I persevered, it is so subtle. It makes other programmes look so overblown in comparison I think. Like (from the top of my head) I watched The Fall the other night. You could just predict the plot, it was like drama by numbers.

MarshaBrady · 23/05/2013 20:26

Ah yes that's his name, Ginsberg. He was brilliant in last series, the competition with Don. The horrible thing Don did when he left the creative stuff in the taxi on purpose.

Kneedeepindaisies · 23/05/2013 20:27

I used to dislike Peggy but now I really like her.

I hate to say it but I'm starting to like Pete too. I know he's a bit of a nob but he does stand up for what's right. I can't remember the examples though.

I'm also loving the comments on Tom and Lorenzo. I spend almost as much time on there as I do on here. Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/05/2013 20:27

I think Betty is brilliant too. Very restrained.

Kneedeepindaisies · 23/05/2013 20:28

Yes love Betty. When did she lose weight and go blonde though?

IdaBlankenship · 23/05/2013 20:29

Tom and Lorenzo are a time vacuum - I go on there and experience loss of hours to rival Don's this week.

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:31

I would like to join in the TLo chats. But I am afraid that I would get the forum equivalent of a curled lip and tumbleweed (as I felt when I first joined mumsnet actually) Grin

I am gla that I am not the only one to have found Peggy annoying, she was so obviously the 'good girl' that you are supposed to root for. She is so much more relaxed and funny in series 4 than she has been before I think. She is another great actress, really holds her own in a quietly strong way against the more showy female roles.

I like Pete despite myself. He seems to have some strange moral code. He gave the fat loe with glasses a filthy look when he made some anti Semitic comment earlier.

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:32

Fat bloke that is supposed to say.

IdaBlankenship · 23/05/2013 20:37

Pete has always reacted when others have been racist. He has many faults but that isn't one of them - all the more surprising then, when he announced to Trudie the other week about her father being with a "large negress prostitute" - it was odd that he brought race into it.

Kneedeepindaisies · 23/05/2013 20:41

Maybe he bought race into it to make it more shocking? Obviously finding your father in law in a brothel isn't shocking enough Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/05/2013 20:43

I know his past is grim, but it is not that grim. Not enough to excuse his heinous behaviour anyway, he chooses to act like that.

I never forgave him for buggering off at the birthday party when he was supposed to pick the cake up. No wonder Betty spends most of the time in a fury.

Hark at me sounding like some old dear on a bus talking about someone in the soaps like they are real.

Kneedeepindaisies · 23/05/2013 20:45

Based on this week's episode, Don is looking for the prostitute in every woman he is with. However he sees the prostitute more as a mother figure so he essentially wants a mother figure and is always disappointed when they don't act as such.

Tom and Lorenzo would ban me for that analysis Hmm

IdaBlankenship · 23/05/2013 20:50

Poor Megan doesn't stand a chance of a happy marriage. Hopefully her career will go stratospheric and she can bugger off to the South of France or something. She would look good on the Riviera.

Kneedeepindaisies · 23/05/2013 20:51

Maybe something to do with the play that was mentioned?
