So excited. We're we starting to see cracks in the marriage last season? I hope we see more of Betty this time.

I was shouting at the screen at Sylvia to tell him to f*ck off!

Some great moments this ep: Roger firing Bert Petersen was fantastic, Ted in the boardroom (I'm loving Ted this season), Peggy giving Don a dressing down.

By the way - what's the feelings about Bob Benson - good motives or just trying to brownnose his way to power?

kneedeepindaisies · 16/05/2013 11:38

The scene with Roger firing Bert encompasses every little thing I love about Roger.

I'm so glad Sylvia had the guts to stand up to Don.

I actually felt sorry for Pete. It must be you lot rubbing off on me Wink I still don't fancy him though.

I think Bob Benson is smart. Bert had given him the heads up on the stairs of the way it was going. He must have known last in is usually first out.

Saying that I'm sure his motives aren't that easy to figure out. This is Mad Men.

Unless he's Don's illegitimate son....

Just watched it. For me, it was the best one this Season. How loathsome was Don? At first I was jealous of Sylvia but I was creeped out by the end of it and I'm so peased she dumped him. He didn't look that hot this week. I thought he looked bloated. Like his tie was strangling him.

Don D annoyed me in the episode where he dumped, who was it, Jaguar. Selfish and annoying.

And agree that he was loathsome with the hotel thing.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 20/05/2013 08:35

He was trying to have some control in his life. While everything at work was changing and there was the possibility of Sylvia moving he was looking to control something. He didn't quite pull it off though did he? Sylvia was the wrong woman the try it on, she put up with it for a while but you could tell it made her feel dirty and ashamed. It also gave her time to think abut the relationship and subsequently end it.

Umm Bob Benson, we'll see more of him. He's like a young Don but without the cynicism and stubbornness.

I LOVED Peggy giving Don a bollocking, she's the only one who could do it and he'd listen. Go Peggy! I've got a bit of a soft spot for Ted, I hope his relationship with Peggy does develop.

I'm veering towards being Team Ted after the last couple of eps. Not sure if I can watch it tonight.. too tired.

Lighthousekeeping · 22/05/2013 22:14

I'll watch it tomorrow it's so late

I'm watching now. It's odd.

I liked the episode for first time this season. Very bizarre. Tap dancing part was surreal but good.

KneeDeepInDaisies · 23/05/2013 08:59

The tap dancing was bizarre but reminded me a bit of when Pete and Trudie did the Charleston.

I'm wondering if it's all real or Don's imagination.

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 23/05/2013 10:06

I'm in the process of watching it now. I saw a review of this and it described it as the worst episode ever.

I switched it off. It was too far up its own arse. No doubt The Guardian. Loved it.

I've found Season 6 pretty crap so far, so all a bad bunch really.

Lighthousekeeping · 23/05/2013 13:28

It's ready to end isn't it? I thought it since last season it's just not as good. It's hard work watching it just for the odd bit if brilliance.

OP posts:
Lighthousekeeping · 23/05/2013 13:29

Of brilliance

I know. I'll watch them all, but even Don has gone down hill. I don't believe it as much, they've gone a bit hammy.

Plus his bloat doesn't help. He was very nice in the one before.

Lighthousekeeping · 23/05/2013 13:54

I noticed last week how bloated they were making him. I hope he's not going to have heart attack.

Clayhead · 23/05/2013 13:59

I love Mad Men but I didn't like this episode at all.

I have realised that I find the Pete character really interesting and Don just gets on my nerves now, is that how I'm supposed to feel this series?!

TheAccidentalExhibitionist · 23/05/2013 14:17

I can't help but feel that everything is done on purpose on Mad Men.

I hated the whole drug scenes with Don being right up his own arse (and I'm a big fan of his), he's lost his way. I think that's what they are trying to show.
I did look carefully at his grundies when he bent over for his shot, just in case I could see the famous Hamm package Grin

MarshaBrady · 23/05/2013 14:22

Ha! The hamwodge.

His firing clients at drop of a hat irritates. I like Ted, Pete and Kevin oh tall one what's his name, blank.

MarshaBrady · 23/05/2013 14:24

Peggy and Don are just not doing it for me, none of the creatives are. I used to like the clever one, but he's not in it as much.
