Fiderer Maggie was addressing the Detective Inspector who was concealed behind shelving in the Echo's office, as Susan was sitting at the table with her. She was taken to the police station for questioning.
Ollie is young and was put out by the journalist leaving and not replying to his texts etc after their fling. He is supposed to be immature, hence the editor's mentor role and Ellie telling him not to release info about the murder victim in the first episode and him doing it anyway, even though it was against newspaper protocols as well as police ones. It is suspicious that he is so keen to be in on all the action.
Will the vicar go to the police with info about Tom destroying the laptop in the next episode? Tom holds the metaphorical key to the murder, he knew what Danny was up to at night. The power cut from the first episode might be important and the hard drive of Danny's computer must finally be investigated.
In the next episode, I think they will concentrate on the Alec Hardy backstory, his health issues and what went wrong with the other case he was working on. I think the murdered girls mother's grief has clouded her judgement on how the police handled her trial. He'd stated he had nothing to hide and didn't want it covered up, suggesting that it wasn't Alec Hardy's fault.
Will the dead dog be a message to Susan to keep quiet from Nige? The murderer was a man with big hands who had strangled Danny when facing him, Nige with his crowd of vigilantes had set up the newsagent to keep attention from him and his dodgy activities.
The psychic conman must return in the last episode or he wouldn't be referenced in AH's dream. Does he link to Nige?
I'm getting more suspicious of Ellie's family too (son, nephew, husband and sister)
