Apparently the dog belongs to Pauline Quirke, he's called Bailey Smile

I think PQ witnessed the murder, so when Tom said he was the police woman's son and she realised the murderer was his dad she gave him the skateboard to take home and try and flush him out. That's my explanation anyway!

Hello all - sorry to join the thread so late but I just started watching on catch up last week.

The red diesel plot obviously is going to come back into it next week - I expected it to be back this week tbh and was gobsmacked at the developments in PQ's storyline instead, with her giving Tom the skateboard and then going to the paper.

One thing that keeps nagging - which of the following smoke?

  • PQ
  • the postman
  • Nige the crossbow psycho
  • Will Mellor's 'I phone dead people' telephone engineer conman?

There was that odd thing about the cig butts being found around the body and I keep on meaning to figure out who that might have been..

Tom- he knows more than he's letting on but I think we'll have to wait until episode 8.

I am finding it a bit annoying now as we aren't getting any further with the plot or nearer to the truth.

Another thing - if Tom and Danny were emailing each other or working on something together, then why have those communications not shown up on Danny's computer etc, which forensics took away what seems like a decade ago.....?

And where did the dad head off to after having his bottle of beer? He looked like he was off on some sort of mission...

The two boys had fallen out before the policewoman and her family went on holiday.

So... What about?
Some kind of paternity secret?
Is policewoman's husband the father of dead boy's mother's new baby?

Was policewoman's husband or nephew or nephew's dead father involved in something fifteen years ago?

It's going to be something like that. Not sure what Pauline quirks role is but she didn't do it.

Danny was up to something and Tom didn't want any part of it but Danny wouldn't listen. Tom feels guilty for Danny's death.

No idea what about PQ but wonder if her dog is all she has left of her family?

Every time is ends I expect a teaser for next week, to get me thinking!

Hmmm so evil PQ is just a witness, plumber bloke is clearly sadistic, Tom is clearly very amgry about something and Chloe's boyfriend is a babe making her a happy room :)

My question though is why does no one seem to talk about it all, for example why didn't Chloe tell anyone that Tom shouted that he hated Danny?!

Criminal Minds would have had this sorted in the first episode..

It's becoming irritating.

I think there's a sub-plot with PQ which isn't directly to do with the murder.

Baby's father isn't her husband. Distinct lack of upset at their child's death. Running doesn't help that much.

Vicar is dodgy.

Can't really be arsed to try and work it out I think it might be two episodes too long this one and am losing interest.

Teejwood. . . The editor or woman in charge ( with the blonde hair) at the local newspaper smokes. A few times there's been shots of her smoking really long looking cigarettes. . Unusual brand?

Slainte She DID by cigarettes! So far I think she is the only one who has been shown as an actual smoker; the editor is using an e-cig or something similar I think.

Thanks Slainte and Chubby - so do we think she cleaned the hut/body and then cleaned the body again on the beach, which is why there were so many butts?

And she cleaned up not because she murdered Danny but because she had to clean up to cover up something else - drugs/red diesel/poaching?
(there has to be a reason for the crossbow and can only think of poaching or as a weapon for protection during dodgy drug/red diesel deals)

I'm not going to take the credit for this ( read it from someone else on twitter) who reckons. . .

Police woman's husband and scary bloke with crossbow were involved in some paedophile ring and had drawn Danny in.

Danny told Tom (via computer) and Tom refused to believe it about his dad

Danny then was killed by them for blabbing, killing was witnessed by PQ, she was first to the body, took skateboard and left cig butts on sand. She gave skateboard to Tom as she knew his dads DNA would be on it and that he would be caught out.

Danny hadn't been sexually assaulted though (thankfully) so that's true then it clearly went wrong early on.
I think I agree with teejwood, I think its got something to do with the red diesel and got out of hand.. Although that is rather dull in the great scheme of things.

PQ just incredibly screwed up due to what happened to her before? Ex husband a monster or soemthing? Maybe she distrusts all authority but did feel she was helping or something?

Tom definitely wanting to hide something on that computer and be sure its completely gone.

Policewoman's son just wants to cover up the fact they had fallen out and possibly something Danny had been telling him about his (tom's) father that he didn't want to believe. Him being father of the baby perhaps, or even father of the dead boy.

It's not a paedophile ring.

I want to know where the psychic has gone? And Miller's sister needs to show up again with her info!

Miller's DH did look worried when DT was talking to Tom on the stairs, and had a look of shock when he saw the skateboard, hmmmmmmmm.

Millers DH did look concerned. I hope its a "good" ending and not one leaving us all going "oh,"
