Have we any new arrivals since last week?

OP posts:

They don't tape your eyes for a spinal section

HDee · 06/02/2013 21:49

Slinky why is opting for a GA odd? I chose to have a GA three times. I have no desire to be awake whatsoever

legoqueen · 06/02/2013 21:49

Mayan - they don't usually tape eyes for a Section...

oldraver · 06/02/2013 21:50

Cecy....I was thinking the same and as she was having the GA and listening to her explanation about it thought..... she's gonna milk this one .

IME (well certainly HCP's on my team) are very understanding of those with fears)

TwelveLeggedWalk · 06/02/2013 21:50

Oh that is making me sniffle. I have no recolletion of being told what I had. Very odd.

TepidCoffee · 06/02/2013 21:50

They haven't really helped themselves though, have they?

Having two children with SEN must be incredibly stressful :(

TepidCoffee · 06/02/2013 21:51

Nickname, she had a panic attack when they were trying to do her spinal and requested a GA.

Mayanbob · 06/02/2013 21:52

Cute baby Evelyn! And thank you for tape/eye knowledge

SlinkyB · 06/02/2013 21:53

Sorry HDee didn't mean to offend. I guess I thought as she'd had a cs before she would be ok.

Just shows every person and birth is different Smile

gregssausageroll · 06/02/2013 21:55

I really dislike that dad.

Nicknamegrief · 06/02/2013 21:55

It was the the baby needing help that confused me (can't watch this program straight).

The spinal is my least favourite part and if she was having a panic attack probably safer with that needle to have a GA but harder on you and baby to recover from I'm told.

Zara1984 · 06/02/2013 21:55

I think the mw and my birth partner being so jokey would make me furious!!

XBenedict · 06/02/2013 21:55

Awwwww

TwelveLeggedWalk · 06/02/2013 21:56

Same Zara! THat would seriously piss me off.

oldraver · 06/02/2013 21:56

No they havn't helped themselves... they both have been stomping around making demands without any thought for why they were having to wait, working themselves up into a fever pitch. They have to take some of that on board

IAmLouisWalsh · 06/02/2013 21:57

Aw, Jacob is just beautiful.

TepidCoffee · 06/02/2013 21:57

There is someone whose job it is to blur every trace of vagina from around baby's head - what a task! :o

Nicknamegrief · 06/02/2013 21:57

My husband is always very jokey with the team (his way of dealing with it), for me it helps if he went all feathery strokey I'd probably deck him.

PictureMeInThese · 06/02/2013 21:57

Of all the thing he could have said about his beautiful daughter and he chooses 'she's got a right gob on 'er' FFS!

loveroflife · 06/02/2013 21:57

It's the mw's job to be so positive, particularly as the couple are so negative and pessimistic - she's trying to get them to see on the bright side.

SlinkyB · 06/02/2013 21:58

Naww! Look at Jacob! I want a squidgy newborn on my chest!

IAmLouisWalsh · 06/02/2013 21:58

Agree, Raver - they stressed themselves out. And they knew what might happen.

Crikeyblimey · 06/02/2013 21:59

A girl is a "happy start"?? Those poor boys :(

Don't like those 2. Appreciate her fears but hey.

legoqueen · 06/02/2013 21:59

Glad she is bonding with the baby...

Mayanbob · 06/02/2013 21:59
