In our area there's no overlap between the hospital and homebirth midwives. The homebirth team only do homebirths and clinics, no hospital births at all.

all going ok thanks, but had a bit of a stressful day today - got really upset about impending snowfall (I live on a street that is really treacherous in the snow/ice) and it sent my BP/heartrate up so been in hospital on monitor - all ok now though thankfully

Oh poor thing. I would have gone and held her hand and repeated my two dozen words of Latvian over and over in a soothing manner.

"There there. I speak a little Latvian but my accent and grammar are quite bad. Can you tell me the way to the museum? Can I have milk and sugar with that please."

Don't they just phone up and get on call mw? For hb if she insisted

I feel sorry for her having to go in. Are they just then going to send her home again.

Poor Alexandra. Just wish she had some family around her.
