Digital channel CITV steps back in time during the weekend of the 5th and 6th January 2013. From 9:25am through to 6pm on both days, the channel will showcase some of the best children's programming from the heyday of CITV. Of note is the absence of anything since 2006 - the year the CITV channel was born, but also the year when ITV largely abandoned children's programming.

Here's what you can expect:

Saturday 5th January 2013

9:50 Super Gran (second episode, 1985)

BertieBotts · 17/12/2012 21:04

OMG. This sounds amazing.

Can you buy a TV licence for just one day? :(

Maybe I'll have to go round a friend's house, 70s style Grin

BertieBotts · 17/12/2012 21:08

I loved Woof! And he was always naked when he turned back into a boy Grin

Art Attack rocks - Neil Buchanan was my first crush Blush

I remember liking Children's Ward but can't remember what it was about (well, apart from a Children's ward, duh!)

And How 2!!!!!

MurderOfGoths · 18/12/2012 00:28

Ooh How 2! I loved that!

On the subject of educational programmes, what was the programme Johnny Ball presented?

SingingSands · 18/12/2012 00:38

That's amazing! I'm going to clog up the sky planner with as much as I can!

TheCatInTheHairnet · 18/12/2012 01:01

Ds1 and 2 LOVED Jungle Run. Highlight of coming home from school!

TenPercenter · 18/12/2012 01:24

Eerie Indiana was fab, I remember the one where people were sealing themselves in tupperware, also the one with the dogs who were telepathic, marvellous.

TenPercenter · 18/12/2012 01:27

The pyramid one was Out Of This World btw, I loved that show, along with round the twist and pugwall.

whathaveiforgottentoday · 18/12/2012 17:18

I'll be sitting down to watch press gang. Loved it

InLoveWithDavidTennant · 18/12/2012 17:46

they should re-run all the old shows, they were brilliant. its just utter toss tosh nowadays

i have rainbow, buttonmoon and dangermouse on dvd.
dangermouse and rainbow are so rude...well... it is if you have 'that' kind of mind Grin

fuzzpig · 18/12/2012 18:48

Ooh this is exciting! My mum's friend worked on a few of those programmes (costumes).

Would love a BBC retro year day too. I'm a nostalgia nut - huge DVD collection here Grin

TheSilveryTinsellyPussycat · 20/12/2012 00:10

How 2? I remember How 1 - or How, as it was called [old gimmer emoticon]

threeineachlobe · 20/12/2012 00:49

Can't be arsed to read previous posts, just wanted to say....

SPATZ !!!! Bloody loved spatz!!!

Though bet it was actually shit and I'll be hugely disappointed.

blindworm · 20/12/2012 00:56

Press Gang - officially best kids show ever. Have showed it to DCs, who agree it's amazing, especially compared to the Disney shite shows they shove down their throats these days.

weirdlyunique · 01/01/2013 17:34

Link all the theme songs to the programs being shown :) fun house, rosie and jim and worst witch are the things im looking forward to most although slightly dissapointed there is no tots tv

uptheamp · 01/01/2013 17:36

all those shows were on when i was in my 20s Grin

obviously not nostalgic enough for me
