Not sisters surely? Their accents are not from same place.

NickyNackyNooNoo · 31/10/2012 21:08

Oops - couple, I think

MousyMouse · 31/10/2012 21:09

the gd website says 'partners'

OP posts:
HazeltheMcWitch · 31/10/2012 21:10

what were their occupations, did they say?

NickyNackyNooNoo · 31/10/2012 21:11

I've been watching the Australian Grand Designs, not the same without Kevin Sad some of them are huge. I like that this week they are going for less is more, why have space if you don't need or want it?

sailorsgal · 31/10/2012 21:14

I haven't been to Skye but it looks amazing. On my list of places to go. Grin

CotedePablo · 31/10/2012 21:14

Missed the first ten minutes, so will have to watch it at the end. Not too take with that wooden box house.

noddyholder · 31/10/2012 21:16

Like these 2.Not OTT or ridiculous just want what they need Smile

Jellykat · 31/10/2012 21:16

Hazel bus driver and (art?) teacher..

MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 21:16

They do seem nice. And undemanding - they want a small house, for two people. Not a mansion to show off to friends Hmm. Good for them.

I hope it gets built ok.

MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 21:17

Oh, x-posted with everyone [hsmile]

We are all pretty much positive so far.

HazeltheMcWitch · 31/10/2012 21:19

(thanks Jellykat ) I could have guessed teacher/artisticy type, but would never have guessed bus driver in a million years!

MousyMouse · 31/10/2012 21:20

the foundation looks tiny.

OP posts:
DontmindifIdo · 31/10/2012 21:20

It looks nice but, am I right in thinking their bedroom is open off the living room/kitchen? So any strong cooking smells would be in your bedroom. I never understand why so many people who build their own house don't think about cooking smells going throughout their house...

HazeltheMcWitch · 31/10/2012 21:21

I like EVERYONE in this ep, no one's showy, all are quite modest and humble.
shows own morals defined by Northern scottish upbringing

Dotty342kids · 31/10/2012 21:21

I'm really liking this one so far, not because I'd want to live in a house like that myself necessarily, but because they're passionate about the place, the house and the way of life. Fab!

NickyNackyNooNoo · 31/10/2012 21:25

A bus driver like Eadie McCreedy (sp?) & an artist like Spencer.....I'm liking these two :)

Aerobreaking · 31/10/2012 21:25

Skye looks beautiful, would love to visit. Donald seems nice as well.

Jellykat · 31/10/2012 21:26

Does one have to 'mow' a turf roof? [hhmm]

CotedePablo · 31/10/2012 21:28

I should think so - it'll grow won't it?

MousyMouse · 31/10/2012 21:28

jelly depends on which kind of plants you use.
some need more maintainance than others.

OP posts:
OhYouBigBadBeast · 31/10/2012 21:29

Lovely couple.
Is the turf going to go right to the ground with the studio? Bit worried about cows deciding its a good place to walk on for a munch!

MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 21:30

You could just shove a sheep up there occasionally [hgrin]

I think Kevin likes this. And I haven't thought that for a while.

I wouldn't mind the bedroom above kitchen thing - in this day and age you can get superb extractor fans so cooking smells shouldn't linger. And it will be lovely and warm, with the heat from the living area rising.

MaryZcary · 31/10/2012 21:31

x-posted re cows/sheep [hgrin]
