I've been watching the Australian Grand Designs, not the same without Kevin some of them are huge. I like that this week they are going for less is more, why have space if you don't need or want it?

I haven't been to Skye but it looks amazing. On my list of places to go.

Missed the first ten minutes, so will have to watch it at the end. Not too take with that wooden box house.

They do seem nice. And undemanding - they want a small house, for two people. Not a mansion to show off to friends . Good for them.

It looks nice but, am I right in thinking their bedroom is open off the living room/kitchen? So any strong cooking smells would be in your bedroom. I never understand why so many people who build their own house don't think about cooking smells going throughout their house...

I'm really liking this one so far, not because I'd want to live in a house like that myself necessarily, but because they're passionate about the place, the house and the way of life. Fab!

A bus driver like Eadie McCreedy (sp?) & an artist like Spencer.....I'm liking these two :)

jelly depends on which kind of plants you use.
some need more maintainance than others.

I wouldn't mind the bedroom above kitchen thing - in this day and age you can get superb extractor fans so cooking smells shouldn't linger. And it will be lovely and warm, with the heat from the living area rising.
