Louis has just said no one's giving the upcoming talent a chance. That's because the traditional proving ground were pubs, which have been closing at a rate of knots since the smoking ban, and can't afford to pay bands or singers any more, especially unproved ones.

So for once, Louis wasn't quite such a twat.
