Anyone planning to see if BBC can be better for the blood pressure than OBEM?

careergirl, I can appreciate why you may think she had not made the right decision but I can tell you I had one woman who came in by ambulance pushing and gave birth two weeks later (!) and last week a woman at 3cm who had a baby half an hour later! These uncertainties are what makes the job so exciting and also so terrifying. The honest truth is that no-one knows in advance of a labour what will happen, we just have to do the best we can with the information we have. I can also see that you may perceive her attitude as 'vile' but triage is about as hard work as midwifery gets and you can't speak to everyone as if they are the queen of sheba all the time. I expect you have been known to speak less than kindly to people on occasion, you have just been lucky enough not to be filmed and discussed on a website by strangers. Wink

The triage thing was interesting. Personally I'd have thought that given that it was her 3rd or 4th baby the MW could have trusted her to know her own body but then policy is policy unfortunately. When I went into labour with ds2 (3rd baby) I knew exactly how things were going to go so when the nice MW in the phone tried to tell me I had a way to go I got a leetle bolshy and made her send the MW round. 5 mins later I was contracting hard and fast.

I liked the episode, looking forward to more. definitely better than OBEM.

i got to hospital with my 3rd to be told that I was smiling so i couldn't possibly be in labour....... 30 minutes later I was holding my baby
