It's my bloody mother's fault!!! She told me it was on and I should watch it!!!!! she knows I won't watch OBEM...this seems to be x10 times worse!!

I'm going to ring her at 10pm and tell her she's frightened the bloody hell out of me! (plus haven't felt my baby move now for 30 mins...even she's bloody frightened!!!)

Pickles77 · 31/07/2012 21:47

Thanks guys, it's horrid I don't have faith in any of these MW apart from the forceps one!

Banderchang · 31/07/2012 21:47

Gas and air noise always reminds me of labour!

TangoSierra · 31/07/2012 21:48

that midwife is like a blond jo brand

TeamGlaikitBritain · 31/07/2012 21:48

Shoplifting? Where?

TeamGlaikitBritain · 31/07/2012 21:48

Forceps would have been done by dr,obstetrician, not midwife.

Ormiriathomimus · 31/07/2012 21:49

I had 3 straightforward deliveries - but even so there were scary moment. Partly because I didn't know what to expect, partly because no matter how you look at it birth is physically stressful. The majority of labours are fine pickles and bluemoon, and ime most midwives are pretty good as well even under intense pressure.

FrankelSaysRelax · 31/07/2012 21:49

Shcharlotte seems to be responding to midwife Jill's technique, but I understand that not everyone would.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 31/07/2012 21:49

The blonde midwife is the only one I'd run a mile from! The rest seem lovely.

Banderchang · 31/07/2012 21:49

Blond midwife is better in action than on the triage desk - they should keep her backstage!

Banderchang · 31/07/2012 21:50

Agree that her style is not for everyone, or for all situations though.

BuntCadger · 31/07/2012 21:50

Awwww broody all over again

TeamGlaikitBritain · 31/07/2012 21:50

Ok she's redeeming herself here a bit!

thekidsrule · 31/07/2012 21:50

actually i had a midwife similar to jill, her name also jill,

no nonsense women but i did warm to her

and im warming to this one

mine had no kids but the three dogs were her babys Grin

HarlettOScara · 31/07/2012 21:51

Same here Orm. And there was meconium at the last minute and they lost her heartbeat completely. The room was flooded with paediatricians and midwives and it was several minutes before anyone even told us she was a girl (after she was breathing).

This blonde midwife is a nightmare!

BuntCadger · 31/07/2012 21:52

Scary moment, he needs oxygen I think. My last 2 babies did.

thekidsrule · 31/07/2012 21:52

i dont remember one of them units im my delivery suite,do all have them

raininginbaltimore · 31/07/2012 21:54

All delivery suites have those tables for resuscitation. And home birth midwives carry oxygen to do same.

thekidsrule · 31/07/2012 21:55

what a massive responsibility being a midwife, they must need nerves of steel

TangoSierra · 31/07/2012 21:55

I think she is pretty good actually, the jo brand one. In control. Reassuring. And got the job done.

TeamGlaikitBritain · 31/07/2012 21:55

Much pinker now! Phew!
