I take it we are all sitting comfortably, and have the strawberries, cream and champagne at the ready ?

Here's to a fantastic 2 weeks of tennis !

I am ! I was a ball girl there, I just LOVE it!

CremeEggThief · 25/06/2012 18:05

Envy of fizzyapples!

fizzyapples · 25/06/2012 18:10

It's my claim to fame - haha!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 25/06/2012 18:16

Clijsters is thrashing Jankovic. I like both of them- though Jankovic went a bit prima donna around the time of the last Olympics.

diddl · 25/06/2012 18:44

Missed it-was there any men´s tennis?

It´s not like the good old days-vey few "characters" about now.

I love McEnroe & Becker commentating the best.

There used to be 2 lots of doubles-McEnroe, McNamara-& the other 2 had similar names?

Ilie Nastasie-fab!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 25/06/2012 19:05

DiddlFederer and Djokovic both won very comfortably, Nadal and Murray are playing tomorrow. Nalbandian who was disqualified at Queen's, was beaten by Tipsarevic Brit Oliver Golding was doing ok against Andreev, now down 2 sets to 1. Venus Williams lost, which was sad really. There hasn't been much to get your teeth into- unless Golding steps up a gear.

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 25/06/2012 19:08

Woodford and Woodbridge were a great doubles pair- they used to win a lot. Some classic doubles matches over the years.

fizzyapples · 25/06/2012 19:53

I love Mark Woodford. Ball girl'd for him loads !

Stilla · 25/06/2012 19:54

Diddl Paul McNamee & Peter McNamara , were they the doubles pairing you were thinking of ?

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/06/2012 20:26

Oh I loved the Woodies, they were great!

I also like watching the invitation doubles Grin

I have just discovered that my Mum is going on Friday - and is going to be on CC! EnvyEnvy

Isner went out today too. Little bit Shock by that.

Saw a bit of Ollie Golding's match, he put up a good fight, could be one to watch for the future ? Hard hitting.

Very much looking forward to tomorrow. We should actually get to see a whole Rafa match, he is 2nd on CC facing Thomaz Bellucci and then Murray V Davydenko is afterwards !

Jo-Wilfred is on Ct1 hopefully around 2pm. Has a LS match to finish first. He's playing Lleyton Hewitt so should progress OK.

Andy Roddick is on Ct1 scheduled 4th, for those who like to ogle ! He's playing Jamie Baker, who is GBR, but I would like to see Andy win.

That´s it, Stilla

I think McEnroe played with Peter Fleming & then Michael Stich.

I was thinking that he also had a "Mc" partner-but I think I´m wrong.

rogerfed · 25/06/2012 22:59

Hurrah! Love how many Lendl fans there are on here. I had a major crush on him in my teens. As you can guess from my name I'm a massive Federer fan now. Love the Wimbledon fortnight. Big, big smiles!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 26/06/2012 08:51

Oh, bugger. I have a soft spot for Hewitt. If Fed hadn't come along when he did (and various injuries), i think he'd have won Wimbledon a couple more times. Fed has been amazingly lucky for a top sportsman- pretty much injury free.

But I would like to see Jo-Willy do well. Today's matches, on paper, look a bit more interesting than yesterday. I think Murray will have to put up a fight against Davydenko, at least I hope so. Too many one-sided affairs yesterday. Golding did well- but mainly because Andreev seemed to be still in the locker room in the first set.

And best of all, Dh is off, and ds's karate is cancelled, so I don't have to break up my afternoons viewing with pesky school runs etc!Grin

quirrelquarrel · 26/06/2012 08:51

Spose I have to love it, working my way through the Trebizon series (for the billionth time!).

uselesslife · 26/06/2012 09:03

I just got a ticket for tomorrow!!!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 26/06/2012 10:09

Didn't watch any yesterday ; had to work.

I will be watching this afternoon, tomorrow, and then Thursday and Friday in the office with the sound off. Wink

Next week I hope to go on either Weds or Fri.

Feel really sorry for Venus.

I do wish the...erm... hilly area wouldn't be referred to as Murray Mound (or is it Mount?). Annoying.

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 26/06/2012 10:29

useless Envy

I am looking forward to the Hewitt v Tsonga match, in fact everything on CC looked good - Murray and then Roddick later. Let's hope that pesky things like preschool runs and needing to cook the dinner don't get in the way too much!!

HenriettaChicken · 26/06/2012 12:39

Ey up, Robson: one set up and 0-30 on the Schiavone serve?

Oops - 0-40. (DF)

SESthebrave · 26/06/2012 12:39

Hello again all!

Am enjoying Laura Robson v Schiavone. Shame that Schiavone has an injury but I still think Robson is doing well.

Friend coming over about 2pm for new baby snuggles. I may have to be sociable and switch tv off! Is it bad that I hope my friend has gone by the time Murray gets on court?

SESthebrave · 26/06/2012 12:42

Oops! I think we put Robson off, HenriettaChicken!

HenriettaChicken · 26/06/2012 12:47

Me and my big mouth.

SusannahL · 26/06/2012 13:37

Yes, I always enjoy the Wimbledon fortnight, although not as much as I did in the McEnroe/Connors days. I really have tried to warm to Andy Murray but can't take to him as much as I did to Henman. I loved his style of play with his gentle drop shots at the net. Now they all seem to just smash the balls from baseline to baseline.
I will still watch Murray this afternoon though - in between getting dinner!
