Here's to a fantastic 2 weeks of tennis !

VAMOS RAFA Grin

DH continues with the annoying theme.

DH: He's the last Brit in it then.

Me: Yes, in the singles. There are still British players in the doubles though.

DH: But really he's the last Brit.

Me: In the singles.

DH: But people don't say that do they?

Perhaps he could and build some kind of village with my DS on a desert island for the next week.

Maybe it will have to extend into the Olypmics, though.

'What's that?'

'It's women's football.'

'Yeah but it's not real football is it?'

Smack

Good points:

He does all the cooking, he does most of a lot of the housework, he baths DS2, he does the shopping and - and this is the important bit - remembers to buy chocolate. And he's good at other things too Wink

NoComet · 01/07/2012 00:01

Murry faces Cilic next which means we may have the lovely Goran court side again.

Lovely bit on the radio earlier where Goran said the ATP fined him just for walking on the court.

Speaking of Goran reminds me of this from the Wimbledon website:

Goran Ivanisevic talking before he won the 2001 Championships as a wild card: "If some angel comes tonight in my dreams and says, 'Okay, Goran, you're going to win Wimbledon tomorrow, but you won't be able to touch the racket ever
again in your life', I would take that."

Made me go awwwww Smile

LetUsPrey · 01/07/2012 00:10

I am plotting my revenge. It's the Euro 2012 final tomorrow tonight. I shall sit next to DH and make lots of insightful comments about the Spanish style of play and the Italian team's tactics. Oh yes, I can talk a lot of bollocks too Grin

MrsHelsBels74 · 01/07/2012 08:49

Aww I gave up & went to bed at the end of the third set figuring there was no way it would finish last night...didn't realise Andy was in a hurry Grin

Maryz - same here! We will be tidying, so that I can spend some of tomorrow sat on my bum watching the tennis!! Grin

Glaikit · 01/07/2012 10:56

No tennis on the middle Monday though?? Or have I got the wrong?

Is anyone else seeing a moon instead of Smile smile

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 01/07/2012 11:18

No there is tennis tomorrow, it is only Sunday that they have off.

No moon here... :)

Glaikit · 01/07/2012 11:46

Moons gone, but it was there!! I think I'm thinking of 3rd Monday!!

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 01/07/2012 13:55

I had to go shopping. I have to make Olympic themed hats and provide a bottle for the tombola for the school fair. I would rather just chuck 'em a fiver and save myself the stress of the dcs fighting over the only pair of scissors miserable cow.

I am still a bit Hmm at how they managed to wrap up the match almost exactly on time. Almost like they planned itGrin.
I love watching Baghdatis play- he brings a bit of fun to the court that is a bit lacking at times.

The dcs are delighted there is no tennis todaySad.

I am really good at talking bollocks about football. Dh hates it. Fortunately, he is at work at 4am- so probably won't stay up to watch the matchGrin

noddyholder · 01/07/2012 15:02

Blimey the washing soon piles up Grin!

LineRunner · 01/07/2012 15:13

Reduced to cleaning the toilet and the surrounding floor area.

RaahhfaNadal, I would gladly pay money to get out of most school-related days and events over the coming tortuous weeks.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 01/07/2012 15:54

Quite glad of a tennis-free day today ? I have loads of work on and am starting today to try to get a head start.

I am v busy with freelance work for the whole of next week, but my plan is to work like buggery in the mornings so that, come 1pm every day, I can stop and spend the rest of the day on the sofa with my cheese, bread, grapes and crisps.

Realistic? Probably not. I suspect I'll end up pulling a few late nights to meet my deadlines. Still, it's only once a year, eh?!

LetUsPrey · 01/07/2012 16:07

I have washed and ironed and been to see my mum and dad.

You have reminded me I have to send cakes to school on Friday.

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 01/07/2012 20:03

I wonder if Rafa is at the footy final?

It won't be the same without him this week

RaahhfaNadalsmyToyboy · 01/07/2012 20:08

Just been checking the schedule for tomorrow Ferrer/Del Potro could be great. I think Cilic might have burnt himself out- Murray may have an easy day. Hopefully Murray will have sorted his pockets out- all those dropped bollocks balls were embarrassingGrin

Poor Tsonga- court 2 again- has he been on centre or 1 yet?

LetUsPrey · 01/07/2012 20:09

Wouldn't the cameras have found him by now?

I agree that it's going to be strange to have the second week of Wimbers with no Nadal.

LetUsPrey · 01/07/2012 20:28

It must be embarrassing to have your balls fall out of your shorts so many timesGrin

Damn. Murray's second on Court One after Shriekipova. Bloody work finishing at bloody 5 o' bloody clock. Bloody hell.

Not sure which courts Tsonga's played on this year.
