I remember in th'olden days when there were no spoilers. The nation had no idea whether Deidre would choose to stay with Ken or do a runner with Mike Baldwin until it was actually broadcast. And we didn't know who shot JR.

So for those of us with no life who enjoy Corrie without spoilers, a new thread discuss our beloved soap with all its flaws Grin

Why do you call Paul "trouser smell man"

OP posts:
whatkungfuthat · 19/05/2012 22:16

Because he looks like he absolutely reeks in that special 'trouser' way

KenDoddsDadsDog · 19/05/2012 22:17

Clammy balls

shinyblackgrape · 19/05/2012 22:21

ken - that was nearly a poppadum with the chicken saag!

Fireman also looks like he doesn't need to shave and polishes his face. David Cameron skin.

He also says "Lusley".

That's all for now. Grin

Dev was dreadful wasn't he? As for Carl and Sunita, well, I'm glad I waited several hours after dinner before watching. I'm pleased Kylie's back, but it's a shame they've re-hashed yet again the Nick and the needy blonde storyline.

I quite enjoyed Sean's flounce though, I'd have a job to make 30 servings of decent hotpot in an hour. They need to sort out the staff in the pub. Karl isn't allowed behind the bar, Tina's off sick, Eva works for the competition, they need some new staff. I also quite enjoyed the little dialogue between Eileen and Audrey at the end.

ajandjjmum · 20/05/2012 11:47

I thought the Eileen/Audrey conversation was a lovely bit of the old Corrie scriptwriting.

GnocchiNineDoors · 20/05/2012 11:49

Yes, I enjoyed that bit too. It was almost a nod to us, "yes, we know how mental this street is....we aren't all bad"

MurielTheActor · 20/05/2012 23:31

Eileen/Audrey - divine Grin
So lovely to see two characters who we're not used to seeing interact have such a sweet moment together. It went a huge way to making life on the street more believable (that there is a life beyond what we see) despite the quite unbelievable plots....

BrightnessFalls · 21/05/2012 07:29

Have I missed an episode, was it on last night?

LeeCoakley · 21/05/2012 21:04

Glad Leanne's back and on good form. I really hope she gets access to Simon because Carla isn't really mum material.

The fiasco at Nick's place - pathetic attempt at creating excitement although I did like Nigel Haver's character's jealous look over at Audrey and the mayor.

The foursome at Dev and Sunita's wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. And Stella saying Dev had a good voice? Was she being sarcastic?

whatkungfuthat · 21/05/2012 21:09

What were Ratboy and Kylie eating and pretending it was chips? Whatever it was it was orange and soft.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 22/05/2012 09:14

Carla is the only one who is being realistic about Simon. Peter and Leanne need their heads banging together.

I'm enjoying seeing David and Kylie together, they are the only couple with any chemistry in the Street at the moment. Eva really is awful, I'd like to see the back of her. Nick could do so much better for himself, he appears to have grown up a bit. They ought to get him back with Leanne instead of pairing him off with immature girls all the time.

The dinner party was underused, they could have ratcheted up the tension a lot more.

GnocchiNineDoors · 22/05/2012 09:45

Anyone think Dev might, out of lonliness, attempt to seduce Stella?

squoosh · 22/05/2012 12:56

Can't stand Saint Leanne. God be with the days when she was a hardfaced prostitute and prior to that canoodling with gangsters and then being held hostage in a multi storey car park.

Anyone else think her wardrobe looks very 1993?

GnocchiNineDoors · 22/05/2012 12:57

I was thinking yesterday her hair is very old layyydeee.

whatkungfuthat · 22/05/2012 12:59

Squoosh its very 1993. Eva's gurning really gets on my nerves.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 22/05/2012 13:55

That was a frumpy top Leanne was wearing, but I suppose she wanted to look mumsy for the judge.

What - yes, the face Eva pulled while tipping wine over Nick was not a good one.

GnocchiNineDoors · 22/05/2012 14:49

Blush I liked Leanne's top. Though I don't think it suited her.

What is with all the pleather jackets on that show too Confused

I really liked Stella's grey dress she had on a Dev's, her outifts are usually the best ones on the street (Carla's used to be but she's gone a bit naff nowadays).

LineRunner · 22/05/2012 17:38

So Carla's gone from Designer Label to Bottom Of A Skip as a result of being shagged senseless by Peter Barlow.

Note to writers: No

GnocchiNineDoors · 22/05/2012 18:08

And why on earth did they move into his flat??

LeeCoakley · 22/05/2012 18:25

I reckon that Peter will lose Simon, he'll blame Carla and start cheating on her with Eva and Stella and none of them will know about the others. Leanne will kill them all whe she finds out.

GnocchiNineDoors · 22/05/2012 18:36

hahahah

thenightsky · 22/05/2012 19:45

I never understand why Carla moved into Peter's pokey flat either. Surely they'd be in her lovely modern apartment.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 22/05/2012 22:13

They aren't in Carla's flat because it's miles away and they wouldn't have Ken and Deirdre on tap for unpaid childminding I reckon.

I liked Stella's dress too, really suited her.

GnocchiNineDoors · 23/05/2012 09:23

WHere is Deidre, and Tracey for that matter....no sign of them for at least two weeks.
