Have started new thread, will be watching last night episode today and will report back.

What is going to happen for the future. If everybody who dies turns into a zombie, I wouldn't want to share a house let alone a bed with somebody ever again. What would happen if they died suddenly in their sleep?

wintera · 17/03/2012 20:42

Yes the zombie guy who was hanging got bit first, then decided to hang himself. Daryl said something like 'dumbass didn't even know enough to shoot himself in the head'. Then while he was hanging there, some walkers came and chomped on his lower half, that's why his feet and legs were in tatters. How delightful! That's why Andrea started throwing up if you remember.

wintera · 17/03/2012 20:49

He also said in his note that he was bitten first 'got bit, fever hit, world's turned to Shit, might as well quit' guite poetic for a suicide note I think you'll all agree.

Tamoo · 17/03/2012 20:56

Ah that explains the hanging guy then.

I guess we know now what the dr/scientist whispered to Rick, not sure why Rick didn't share the info with everyone else though?

(PS Didn't * reanimate quickly? I mean, compared to Andrea's sister way back when, who took hours and hours.)

wintera · 17/03/2012 21:08

I'm just trying to remember off the top of my head but am sure that Dr Jenner at the cdc place told them that reanimation time varies from person to person. I think he said the quickest was just a few mins while the longest was something like 8 hours.

susiedaisy · 17/03/2012 21:18

Yeah wintera you're rightSmile

OK great ending up till the moment that annoying little brat showed up. Again. It would have been so much more powerful if Rick had been able to grieve in peace and then finished off Walker Shane.
Instead Carl shows up and killed the moment.

What the hell is Lori thinking btw? Her son's already been shot once and nearly died, there are zombies around, there's a guy who's stolen a gun and runs with a dangerous run and she can't keep an eye on the boy?
It's getting tiresome.

wintera · 17/03/2012 22:14

Surely though now there is no way that the situation can ever get any better for mankind? I was thinking recently that it would be stupid to kill living people really because the humans in the world need to start repopulating the planet. But if it's now all people who die who reanimate, then the World is never gonna be free of zombies? Like someone said above, a person could go to sleep with their husband, he dies in the night, reanimates and then starts chomping on you and the whole thing starts again! Talk about grim!

anonacfr · 17/03/2012 22:20

Not necessarily. The virus might not be eternal and if people survive for a few years they might become immune.
Plus a cure might be found at some point.

In those situations I think people have to go on a 'hope for the best' attitude. They have to work on a long term repair and rebuild plan, wait for the winter when walkers freeze to dispose of them, try to create bigger settlements, find resources and doctors/nurses, raid pharmacies to get supplies for a hospital etc.
As for reanimation I guess people should lock themselves in for the night. If something goes wrong only one household dies.
And obviously make sure all who die are disposed of properly.

wintera · 17/03/2012 22:30

See you are much more of a 'glass half full' kind of a girl than me that's for sure. I reckon I'd just take a gun to my head and be done with it! And usually I'm a very happy go lucky person too. But I don't think I could cope with it all to be honest!

cornsilksity · 17/03/2012 22:32

I would be lwilling to take the chance with daryl ;)

cornsilksity · 17/03/2012 22:33

Of being munched in bed I mean
And that sounds rude!

anonacfr · 17/03/2012 22:55

Rude yet strangely off putting. Even with Darryl. Grin

Speaking of Darryl I loved the way he immediately guessed Shane was lying. As soon as Shane tried to put them off following the tracks he just knew. And nice to see Glenn acting all heroic.

Now back to my fave (snort) character Lori. WTF was she telling Shane the baby might be his? What was she trying to achieve with that pathetic magnanimous little speech? Because basically after she told Shane the baby was probably his and he was great at protecting her, there and then he decided to use Randall as bait to kill Rick.
Nice job, Lori. Not only can you not look after your son but you nearly got your husband killed.
I bet you she's now going to mourn Shane and decide in hindsight that she was in love with him and she'll nev forgive Rick for killing him.

whathaveiforgottentoday · 17/03/2012 23:42

I noticed that about Darryl too, he clearly spotted Shane was lying. I watched the episode again today as I'm a bit of a scaredy cat at times and miss bits as have to go and make cups of tea (adult way of hiding behind the sofa).

anonacfr · 18/03/2012 00:56

Btw if anyone has an iPad there's a free app going at the moment called Zombie Highway where you have to find off zombies while driving a car and trying not to crash. Lots of fun. Grin

wintera · 18/03/2012 07:41

Let's face it, Daryl is a way better detective than either Rick or Shane! Loving Daryl at the mo. He just oozes cool. Anon - that app sounds cool, but we don't have an iPad, I wonder whether it's available on our iPod though. We get apps on there. Will have a look.

wintera · 18/03/2012 09:15

Have now got that app on our iPod. Hope I get better at it, I'm all over the place at the mo!

anonacfr · 18/03/2012 10:38

Rather embarrassing to think that an uneducated redneck makes a smarter detective than the two trained cops. I also love the fact that he's not in the original comic and yet has become the fans' favourite!

sobenobu · 18/03/2012 18:15

Anyone remember Rene from True Blood playing a character called Dave? I think it may have been around about when Randall was captured/rescued?.

wintera · 18/03/2012 18:40

Yes, he was one of the two guys that Rick shot in the bar when they went to find Herschel.

JKSLtd · 18/03/2012 20:12

Right, have resisted (mostly) reading this thread and am watching it now. Not sure if i'll finish it as DH fiddling in the study so will want to come and be sociable in a minute Hmm Grin

Why, why, why, would you agree to go for a walk in the woods at night in zombie times? I
t's time to start thinking differently, instead of reacting with a posse to go hunt down an escapee; all hustle back to safety, hunker down, wait til morning & with any luck the escapee will get bitten anyway.

JKSLtd · 18/03/2012 20:26

Wow, that was good!
And next week looks fab too!
Maybe I should send DH out for the night so I can watch it at the time...

Certainly in the books by JL Bourne, everyone who dies reanimates. For eg, in a plane crash the survivors are immediately at risk from the new zombies in the wreckage with them - and in the News trilogy it's the same, there's a truck crash in that where a woman dies and reanimates in her seatbelt.
Maybe always wear a seat belt while travelling and get strapped down for bedtime? Like spacemen Grin

But really, Carl fgs somebody keep an eye on that kid! Although at least now he's armed and seems to now how to use it and is prepared to kill zombies, so he's useful.

notyummy · 19/03/2012 08:48

Sorry completely missed most of this thread while I've been watching this half of the series.
Just watched the last episode... (while eating poached egg on toast with tomato sauce... not the wisest combination.)

I can't wait till the Autumn!
