Have started new thread, will be watching last night episode today and will report back.

Nah, I'm sticking with Rick, I think both Shane and Daryl would save themselves over anyone else, Rick would luck out for me too!

AWimbaWay · 07/03/2012 19:47

*look out

PfftTheMagicDraco · 07/03/2012 20:02

Morgan is the name of the guy with the son that Rick met at the very start of the series. I have been waiting for him to make a reappearance, it would be nice if they could meet some survivors who were not complete psychopaths.

What I hate about TWD is the terrible female characters. They are ALL awful, without exception.

anonacfr · 07/03/2012 20:14

Darryll was the only one who really looked for Sophia. He has the perfect combination of survival skills/toughness and empathy I think.

Shane is a crap decision maker and not exactly loyal either. I think in the long run the best survivors are the one with the long run plan. Not just day to day surviving, but how to kill zombies, how to get electricity/ running water/ hospitals. Society building has to be the way to go, if only to protect babies yet to be born.
They need doulas too. Grin

JKSLtd · 07/03/2012 20:31

And to rebuild society you need more people IMO, so you should welcome new people - within reason.

Did I mention that I have The Walking Dead: The Board Game still in its cellophane and no one who wants to play it with me? Sad

There is a single-player option [sadder]

That's the kind of intense hatred I admire.

There are cards in the box but I'm too anal to open it to find out more. Plus I might give it away as a birthday present to my nephew whether he wants it or not. Almost certainly not.

countessbabycham · 08/03/2012 00:09

Having just watched season 1 ep1 and part of ep2 again,I'm amazed at how edgy it was compared with season 2!I've made lots of little squeaky noises and flapped my hands around greatly!Grin

I recommend a re-visit to season 1 to all!

I agree Countess - every episode in series one I was on tenterhooks for the whole thing & was on such an adrenalin rush I couldn't sleep for a while afterwards.

Some of series 2 have been much more low key.

Tamoo - I think I might pretend that I haven't read your post!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/03/2012 13:33

There's a walking dead board game???

Blondes faints

AWimbaWay · 08/03/2012 14:46

Tamoo, I think you've just given away something we don't know yet!

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2012 14:52

I have reported that tamoo in the hope it'll be deleted. Nothing personal, hols you're not offended.

Tamoo · 08/03/2012 15:00

Apologies - it was the end of the last episode so assumed you'd all have seen it Blush really sorry Sad

StealthPolarBear · 08/03/2012 15:02

Really? You mean in the preview of the next week? I must have missed that.

wintera · 08/03/2012 15:35

Are you in America Tamoo? That would explain it you see. We are one episode behind America.

I have heard that season three is going to have a much darker tone. The writers have said they want some really dark events to happen next year. Ooooooh!!

countessbabycham · 08/03/2012 17:11

I hope by 'darker',they mean 'grislier' and 'blood and gutsier' wintera

A couple of the season 2 episodes have been little more scary than Corrers TBH....

susiedaisy · 08/03/2012 17:46

Season 3!!! Yipee!!

Realises I may be a bit slow and everyone else knew, but someone's gotta be last!Grin

Hi Tamoo
We have withdrawn your post due to spoiler isshooes
(does not watch show and thus has no idea what is occurring on this thread)
Thanks M Towers

anonacfr · 08/03/2012 19:04

The thing is they have a smaller budget this season and twice as many episodes to shoot. They haven't been able to produce the big set pieces like Egg riding bits to Atlanta (poor horsey) the CDC explosion etc,
Instead they've gone more soapy (yes I'm looking at you, LORI) with smaller groups of zombies.

Nothing beat Carol killing her abusive bastard husband btw. That was truly gruesome.
Rick undercover as a zombie was pretty good too. Grin

susiedaisy · 08/03/2012 19:10

Yes definitely season one with rick and Glenn covered in zombie guts walking through them was a heart stopping moment still freaks me out to watch it and I know they make it out alive!

OP posts:
countessbabycham · 08/03/2012 19:19

I reckon one of my favourite season one parts is when Rick made his bid for freedom from the tank.

If it were me,I'd be there all shrivelled and dessicated now.It horrifies me the thought of leaving the safety of the tank to face them.

Thats why I like the staying in the open idea.If I backed myself into a 'safe' little corner I think I'd be too much of a coward to ever come out again.

Tamoo · 08/03/2012 20:15

No not in US, started watching Season 2 on (my mum's) Sky and have been watching online since then, sorry again, didn't realise about the episode lapse. I've read a lot of the books too so obv am comparing to how it's following the original story, which does get very dark indeed Smile

queenrollo · 09/03/2012 08:15

we're really enjoying this series. DH has read the books up to number 15, and is enjoying comparing them to the series. He says he quite likes the fact they've changed some of the storylines as it's keeping him guessing too.

I said last night I think they'll cop out with Shane and rather than him being killed by one of the others he'll die protecting Lori, because she'll be in danger and he's convinced the baby is his. The writers will 'redeem' his character.
I hope not. I'd like to see him get wasted as per the books (those that have read them know who I mean)

I'm going to be very careful what I write on this thread, and probably only comment on events after you guys have already posted them as we are watching them from downloads so I think we may be ahead of you slightly. I have no idea where you are with the broadcast series.

I want sweet thoughtful Daryl back though please.
