"My baby was an early shooter of zombies " Grin

PaulaMummyKnowsBest · 07/03/2012 13:11

was anyone else secretly hoping that Rick was going to leave Shane behind or was it just me?

AWimbaWay · 07/03/2012 13:34

I kind of was PaulaMummyKnowsBest, but then he's such a watch-able character I do want him to stay in the series a bit longer.

I think we should place bets on how he will die;

  1. Rick
  2. Walkers
  3. Another in their group
  4. Someone from another group of living
  5. Accident
StealthPolarBear · 07/03/2012 13:44
  1. Eaten by bears
AWimbaWay · 07/03/2012 14:02

Polar Bears?

AWimbaWay · 07/03/2012 14:02

Zombie bears!

AWimbaWay · 07/03/2012 14:04

I'm now imagining zombie animals roaming the land, a cute little zombie hedgehog.

JKSLtd · 07/03/2012 14:05

I vote 3. Possibly Lori.
But someone who finally has enough of him.

limitedperiodonly · 07/03/2012 14:10

I think Lori too. Probably while defending Rick. Carl may get caught in the crossfire

AWimbaWay · 07/03/2012 14:16

I was thinking maybe Andrea, in a last minute change of allegiance from Shane to Rick, more likely Rick though. I really want it to be walkers.

countessbabycham · 07/03/2012 14:18

Phew! Thought I'd lost you all!

Haven't read whole new thread, but all I can say is I told y'all that Sophia would get zombified....

So,I'd definately have left the impaled by his leg man to be eaten.
I think Shane is turning out to be the best (ie most ruthless) survivor.
Daryl is being a bit of an attention seeking sulky pants.
I'd have left Lori out there.
And I reckon its time they moved on or at least posted a bit of a look out as there seems to be a fair bit of local action (at last Grin)

Finally judging by the women left there I have decided I'm altogether too fat to survive the zombie apocalypse....

limitedperiodonly · 07/03/2012 14:21

There's an ad for lactose-free milk that has cute hedgehogs going round the supermarket doing their shopping. Not zombie hedgehogs but there was a supermarket in one of the ...Of The Dead films.

Completely irrelevant except they're very cute.

JKSLtd · 07/03/2012 14:33

Remember they've been on a pretty strict diet for a while Grin

Has anyone decided if animals get zombiefied or not?

Also, re lookout duty, the RV only allows a view of less than 180 degrees as it's near the wood. What about the back of the farmhouse?

I really think they shouldn't kill that young chap, would you not want to add to your own group, esp a surprisingly healthy young man who's prepared to face zombies & would be overly-grateful for saving his life?
And just generally, would you not want more people? Living in a groups of what 10-ish? would get pretty suffocating I would think.

susiedaisy · 07/03/2012 14:41

Yeah we need more characters in it, in the uk we would be tripping over walkers and gangs of survivors all over the place!

OP posts:
countessbabycham · 07/03/2012 14:46

JKSLtd DH said the same and reckoned I'd look like that by then .

I don't reckon animals get zombified or else they'd get attacked by zombiefied raccoons/dogs etc on a regular basis I reckon (although I imagine most pets would die of starvation in their homes and gardens,or be eaten by their owners)

I really think they need roaming guards now with a signalling system.

I wouldn't kill that bloke (waste of a bullet).Perfectly good zombies to do that.I can see he could be an asset but I nearly crapped myself just watching the rescue - there's no way I'd risk saving his bacon with all those walkers nearly upon me in real life.

susiedaisy · 07/03/2012 15:03

There has been some excellent edge of your seat bits hasn't there, I even turned the sound down on the tv for one bit as I couldn't stand the noise of the walkers Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/03/2012 15:04

I'm still waiting for the one armed bloke to appear

wintera · 07/03/2012 15:33

Where the hell is merle? Could he be part of that other group that Randall was with? Now that would be great. And we still don't know what Jenner whispered into Rick's ear at the end of season one. Are we ever going to find out?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/03/2012 16:39

Merle

That's the one :)

wintera · 07/03/2012 17:25

Don't worry - I don't know spoilers - but I've heard that there's some really shocking developments over the next few episodes leading up to the finale . . . . . . .

AWimbaWay · 07/03/2012 18:00

I'm very excited, dh thinks I'm a saddo, he likes it too but I actually put when this season was due to start up again in big red letters on our calendar so I wouldn't forget Blush.

Did we ever discover what happened to the father and son Rick met in the first episode? I can't remember.

wintera · 07/03/2012 18:22

No that's another unresolved issue isn't it? Rick used to try to contact him over the radio but think he stopped doing that after the first episode of this season. There's a few people I would like an update on, these was also that family that split from the group in season one. Can't remember their names but they decided not to go with the gang when they headed to that cdc place. I wonder if any of these people will turn up again?

countessbabycham · 07/03/2012 18:48

I'm starting to rewatch the whole of season one tonight on DVD.

I really really really want the kids to go to bed Grin

(They are aware of Mummy's fixation with zombies but think they are silly and funny and not at all scary....)

anonacfr · 07/03/2012 19:03

I don't think Shane is the best survivor at all. He's the 'shoot first think later' type, which is all well and good in the short run (despite that he still finds himself in trouble. Remember in the first series? Rick covered himself in zombie guts to escape. You can bet Shane would never have thought of that. He was too busy running an unprotected campsite and shagging Lori) but is crap at thinking ahead.
He's also seriously unbalanced. Look at his whole spiel on Otis 'not belonging'. Otis had useful medical training. And him ranting at Randall being a piece of garbage and going back to shoot him? Hello, let's attract more walkers why don't we.

I would stick with Darryll. Who incidentally looks cleaner these days.

countessbabycham · 07/03/2012 19:25

But I still can't help feeling that in reality,Ricks niceness would be his downfall!

I think in a post-apocalyptic scenario, there is not really much place for the old rules.I think the whole not sinking down to uncivillized behaviour would have you ending up as zombie meat. It'd be survival of the fittest and I honestly reckon the 'shoot first ask questions later' approach would be the best approach in the circumstances.

But I must agree that the whole Otis scenario seemed unecessary.I can't remember who Randall was.

Perhaps sulky Daryl would be the best bet still.I have this inbuilt thing where I hate to admit agreeing with the most popular (and clearly most sexually appealling) choice. Its my rebellious side.
