Also admiration and swooning. If you haven't watched all 7 seasons, read no further!

Two Cathedrals - have watched it several times and only just realised last night that Mrs Landingham was driving back to the WH as Bartlet wanted to tell her about the MS.

I love the scenes with young Mrs L and Jed.

Why "two" cathedrals though?

yep, a pink squirrel Suzy.
Josh asked for a key, a kite and some lightning
And the title was Hold The Lettuce
Anyone else read the Keith Topping book? It's marvellous for back stories e.g. Toby's ex wife was created because Richard Schiff accidentally left his wedding ring on when filming.
So... Home alone this evening. Which one episode should I watch?

gettingalifenow · 14/07/2012 07:56

I want that book! Will head to amazon tout suite.

Welcome misslaughalot come on in and pull up a chair.

The key, kite etc answer whilst being true, was also accompanied by the screwdriver comment I remember - he wanted to take the back off the computer to get the results out! Oh, Josh, we all love you....

Also never understood how they could think that Mallory was a small child - it could have been spun in that first episode (or was it second?) for the audience when we didn't know Leo too well - but the characters had known him for years, would have seen Mallory and Gill (?) on the campaign trail so it does really bear close scrutiny. Fun scene tho.

It's a good bath book because you can dip in and out. Only goes up to not even midway through S3, though. Don't think he wrote a follow-up, did he?

"Pink Squirrel Suzy" Why on earth? Then again if we had an "MN Cocktails" thread I'm sure there'd be some amazing names too Grin

I think that clip vid proves that Sorkin only has one idea...as funny as the vid was! For some reason that one idea played well with West Wing and just so so with the rest.

I don't think Sports Night is available in Region 2, but I may be wrong. It certainly wasn't years ago.

I never got the Mallory as a small child thing. I assume she uses her mother's maiden name in order to not be associated with her father, not that McGarry is all that uncommon. It's not really common either, in the circles she probably went to school with and such.

Fiderer · 19/07/2012 10:49

I must admit when the video first started I thought it was a dig at Sorkin for rehashing dialogue. It is odd about lines working better in the WW than the other shows. I wondered if it was because of the others who worked on it, like Thomas Schlamme, but a quick check shows he worked on Sports Night and Studio 60 too.

Meanwhile, another trivia question:

What, according to Josh, is the acronym for the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee?

Ooh, ooh, I know!

Dork squad?!

Fiderer · 19/07/2012 21:13

Grin Yes, dork squad.

Where does Bartlet claim his tennis doubles partner worked?

I love that scene. "Let the poets write about that there, Byron."

Fiderer you just made my list

Coming back home a little early, will be able to catch up at start of September.

MardyBra · 22/07/2013 12:31

I've finally finished watching it (about 2 years).

I can finally read this thread.

It may take me just as long.

Fiderer · 22/07/2013 15:15

Grin Mards

I started another WW thread fairly recently. It fizzled out because of tennis and warm weather I think.

As soon as autumns tints the leaves and the air cools, we'll be back no doubt.

Ah, will have a look at that one too. I think I toyed with it but was scared of spoilers.

I remember watching this thread wistfully when I was on about series 3 and wanting to join in...

Isthiscorrect · 23/07/2013 13:24

Oh the Stackhouse Fillibuster is my favourite episode. On the basis of this thread I have just ordered a copy of the Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to The West Wing from Amazon (only 1p used) and will give it to DS for his birthday after I have read it.

changeforthebetter · 28/07/2013 09:26

BartletforAmerica - that's a great video. Thanks Thanks
