Also admiration and swooning. If you haven't watched all 7 seasons, read no further!

Two Cathedrals - have watched it several times and only just realised last night that Mrs Landingham was driving back to the WH as Bartlet wanted to tell her about the MS.

I love the scenes with young Mrs L and Jed.

Why "two" cathedrals though?

@Hassled

I've been reading tweets about Mrs Landingham and someone said: "If anyone in the DC area tonight could leave a flower at 18th & Potomac, I'd be much obliged. Good night and thank you, Mrs. Landingham." And now there's a lump in my throat.
Me too. Sad

Help! We've just finished S7 and are feeling v odd. What to watch now? Not keen on Studio 60, any suggestions? We can't start again just yet........

Fiderer · 18/06/2012 05:39

I wouldn't advise Studio 60. I didn't give it a fair go at first I think as I spent too much time thinking "Josh? But, that's Josh". Obv more than my small brain could cope with!

I usually go for something lighter and light years away from TWW such as MASH or Blackadder. Last bleary-eyed "just one more episode" series I watched was Homeland.

Ah, we well know that "odd" feeling at our house, in the hiatus between the end of one watching and the beginning of the next. (What is a decent period to leave, by the way?).

We like the Danish Crime series, The Eagle, Unit One, and The Killing. Very different from WW but very good.

We're also looking forward to the new Sorkin series The Newsroom en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Newsroom_%28U.S._TV_series%29, which should be starting soon on HBO I believe.

Tee2072 · 18/06/2012 21:09

Just started Season 4 today. They are a bit vague as to why Debbie was fired, but I guess it was because she hired Charlie rather than the other guy.

I always watch something scifi after finishing WW. Sometimes Stargate.

annalovesmrbates · 18/06/2012 23:23

I quite like the look of Homeland but DH seems set on Game of Thrones. Sigh. We can WW again soon I guess.

Whatever happened to that lawyer Leo was dating...

Fiderer · 25/06/2012 16:45

Jordan? She just disappeared. Shame. I liked the episode where she and Leo danced.

Also where she wouldn't give up about the non-binding joint resolutions, like Little League baseball and friendship with Mongolia. Not many people in Washington would be allowed to wait around in Leo's office like that.

Sorkin's new series seems to be getting a slating

Tee2072 · 25/06/2012 17:01

My husband said he had heard good things. But I would agree, that is not a positive review!

Yes, Jordan. Just watched the ep where they dance. sigh

Acekicker · 25/06/2012 18:18

Debbie was fired because she picked Charlie over a senator's son (or someone else equally important's son). That was what drove her into her random alpaca, poker and drugs spiral...

Jordan went off to Mandyville to join Cathy the Communications secretary I suspect Grin.

OliviaLMumsnet · 25/06/2012 18:33

new sorkin drama aired last night coming to UK (sky) in July according to DH. (who is vg at finding out about this sorta thing)

Fiderer · 26/06/2012 06:40

I watched the pilot episode of Veep last night. Nearly mistyped 'pilot' as 'polite' which it wasn't. They swear constantly, one great line when a speech was gutted at the last minute: "We've been pencil-fucked."

It's also v fast, a bit too much at times (as is the swearing) but that may be because I am used to the more urbane and more subtle WW. Still, funniest thing I've seen in a while.

Constantly odd though that they're in OEOB, not the West Wing Grin

Watching The Newsroom.

It's boring.

I really think Sorkin is past it.

Tee2072 · 26/06/2012 20:41

47 minutes in, it turned into a Sorkin show...

TinyPawz · 27/06/2012 18:08

I am most not impressed....currently up the arse end of nowhere so downloading not possible.

Lets make a deal: no one is to watch The Newsroom until I am back into the land of normal people then we can all watch together. Waddya say? No, didn't think so Sad

Fiderer · 27/06/2012 18:19

Well I won't watch it Pawz, I'll wait for you. Often have coughdownloadingstreamingcough difficulties here too. What you up to in the arse end anyway?

In the meantime I shall continue with TWW on DVD. Am up to "Galileo". "Galileo Fiiiiiive"

OP posts:
TinyPawz · 29/06/2012 21:02

Working overseas, internet coverage is sketchy at best. Nowhere near stable enough for coughdownloadingstreamingcough. Not back to normal internet service until mid/end September.

I actually volunteered to loan WW to friend. She has never seen it. I wonder if all these people lived under rocks for a few years.

CJ: I'm GREAT in bed!!!

How are you doing this?!?

Ample · 29/06/2012 21:20

I like Sorkin's writing (not just tv) but I heard The Newsroom is gathering mixed reviews...he doesn't write women well, apparently.
Apart from Claudia Jean of course.

Oh Hassled that is too sad Sad I read enough of the DH bollocks - not a fan of that show. Kathryn Joosten will always be Dolores Landingham to me.

TinyPawz · 29/06/2012 21:26

Olivia coughdownloadingstreamingcough

Tee2072 · 02/07/2012 16:13

What Tiny Said, Olivia.

My husband is a bad bad man...

It did get better at the end of the premier, BTW. I won't say any more than that.

Also, just watching Sam lose in California. Do they ever say why he doesn't come back to the White House? Did I miss it?

CaveMum · 05/07/2012 08:17

Hello fellow Wing Nuts! Long time no see Grin

Anyone seen this articke from Adam Sorkin about how to write a good script?

He da man!

gettingalifenow · 05/07/2012 08:27

Oo, oo we're back!

Tee, they never do say why Sam doesn't come back - even at the very end when he does come back, they don't say why he didn't, iykwim
