Also admiration and swooning. If you haven't watched all 7 seasons, read no further!

Two Cathedrals - have watched it several times and only just realised last night that Mrs Landingham was driving back to the WH as Bartlet wanted to tell her about the MS.

I love the scenes with young Mrs L and Jed.

Why "two" cathedrals though?

I always assumed that it was the national cathedral where the funeral service was held and the White House ie a cathedral of politics.

One of my favourite all-time WW episodes.

CaveMum · 05/02/2012 21:00

Ooo, a new WW thread.

[pulls up a chair]

fivegomadindorset · 05/02/2012 21:01

I cried when she died Sad

Other favourite episode is when he had to choose a turkey.

thelennox · 05/02/2012 21:01

I thought it was a connection with the chapel that his father had found the cigarette butt in, and then he did the same thing in the present ifswim.

thelennox · 05/02/2012 21:02

The part when he walks through the office to the press conference and brothers in arms begins and they all follow him puts shivers down my spine.

beginnings · 05/02/2012 21:05

Ooh ooh can I join in???

I always thought two cathedrals was about Jed's struggle between his faith and politics. And remember it was all caught up in the lying about the MS.

(gets DVDS off shelf....might be up a bit late)

Do you know that a friend asked me if she could borrow them recently.

Ahem, no.

Yama · 05/02/2012 21:07

Yes, Brothers in Arms music does something to me.

I the episode when CJ geets all angry about the treatment of women in Quatari and shouts at Toby.

Yama · 05/02/2012 21:10

I lent my boxset to a woman at work who was off for months recuperating from an operation. She had never seen a single episode before and watched the whole damn lot during her absence.

My good deed for the, well lifetime really.

CaveMum · 05/02/2012 21:11

CJ, quite simply, rocks Grin

And of course she can do "The Jackal" Wink

beginnings · 05/02/2012 21:11

Or the episode where she tells the press room about the 12 year old girls who weren't rescued from a fire as they weren't properly attired and ends by saying "but that Saudi Arabia, our partners in peace"

Or Glenn Close as Chief Justice.

My favourite scene ever is when Josh hears that Amy has been made FLOTUS 's Chief of Staff. I heart Bradley Whitford.

CaveMum · 05/02/2012 21:13

The Supremes is quite possibility my favourite episode, but then again I love so many of them!

beginnings · 05/02/2012 21:14

Yama you are a better person than I am.

I'm currently 28 weeks pregnant. The first 12 weeks were a little nervy and honestly I don't know I'd have got through it without The West Wing.

The Jackal!! Allison Janney is actually one of the coolest people on the planet.

Cristiane · 05/02/2012 21:15

No no no, 'Evidence of Things Not Seen' s the best - CJ standing the egg on its end at the vernal equinox.

Cristiane · 05/02/2012 21:17

I am so envious of people who haven't seen the west wing yet.

My daughters will have weird Pavlovian responses when they are older to the theme music. Long nights of me, baby, breast feeding and da de daaah de da de daaaah....

CaveMum · 05/02/2012 21:17

Let's be honest though, trying to pick your favourite WE episode is like trying to pick a favourite child!

CaveMum · 05/02/2012 21:17

WW obv!

[facepalm]

Cristiane · 05/02/2012 21:19

Why can't they bring it back. Make more. I need more. I have seen each episode about six times I think. It is ALL I watch really

beginnings · 05/02/2012 21:20

Can you imagine discovering it for the first time again! I still remember watching the first ever one and calling my Dad in Dublin all excited and him telling me, "Love, it's been on Irish TV for six months!" WELL WHY HAVEN'T YOU TOLD ME ABOUT IT THEN!

Deliaskis · 05/02/2012 21:23

I thought this thread was going to be actual WW trivia, like a quiz of sorts. Can we do that please?

I'll start....

To what was Ainsley Hayes referring when she said...'talk about your chickens coming home to roost'?

beginnings · 05/02/2012 21:24

Cristiane it's the only thing worth watching.

I actually sit at work sometimes thinking WWLD.

(shuffles off.....worries she might have revealed too much)

thelennox · 05/02/2012 21:24

It has got to the point I can now speak the dialogue from certain episodes.
I love it, love it, love it. Currently approaching mid point of season three in my 9 millionth re viewing of episodes.

thelennox · 05/02/2012 21:25

Was it Sam and his work to protect the oil tanker before he went to work for Bartlett?

Cristiane · 05/02/2012 21:26

Beginnings I do that too!

Gand what was Ainsley referring to... Something about education?

Deliaskis · 05/02/2012 21:26

C'rect thelennox now you have to come up with a question!

Cristiane · 05/02/2012 21:27

Thelennox I think you are right!
