She's having an ARM to be induced. Don't know the reason for induction though.

Diamorph is similar to pethidine.

Diamorphine is an alternative to pethadine.

Wasn't being patronising and it may well have hurt but I don't remember!

Heather - bikini water birth lady - hadn't been to any classes and she did ok!

No, she doesn't HAVE to go to classes but if she's not doing that or reading up about birth at all then it doesn't bode well for her potential parenting. What if she's as clueless about childcare?

Arm is artificial rupture of membranes.

Internals were shockingly painful for me when I had dd. I was induced with 3 pessaries and bugger me that hurt. The midwife who administered them was a sadist. I had none with ds, the midwife was skilled enough to not need to do them. I'm hoping to get away without any this time too. Am hoping that if I actually get in the pool this time it'll give me a place to hide.

Bad day- the wording with her name said she was 2 weeks overdue.

I was 2 weeks over with DD1- always has been an awkward madam! :)

I think 17 is young, but who knows she may have get support around her and be better served than an older mum in late20s

I never went to classes. And thank fuck I didn't waste my time. 2 emcs later and I'd have been very pissed off at my wasted evenings breathing and imagining opening flowers

I don't think the classes were much cop really, they didn't tell you anything you couldn't read in a book or on the internet.

How sad they have to close due to no mw's

In my class the midwife did the baby through the plastic pelvis bit and got it stuck. Turned out she got the wrong size doll! Wasn't the most reassuring time...

Surely a baby is a person?

I screamed with my third, she was stuck and had to have forcepts with just gas and air... I screamed like a banshee..
