The midwife's really wouldnt let me move. Almost as soon as i got into the hositpal they attached me to the bed, said i wasnt allowed to move or eat anything and stuck a catheta (sp?) in and it went downhill from there :(

Like the MW in the birthing suite. Far more encouraging than the other one.

Stupid and unhelpful turn of phrase.

For me, first labour was horrid, 33 hours of hell. 2nd labour amazing. 3 hours of mild contractions, 1.5 hours of established but bearable labour, dd born with no pain relief, on the bathroom floor, and tucked up in bed with a cup of tea 1 hour later. Seriously, no correlation between the two!
