In Atonement he at the very least takes advantage of a 15 yr old girl who thinks she is more mature than she really is.

LeBOF · 09/01/2012 20:25

That kissing YouTube! Shock

They look like two stranded guppies gasping for air.

Onlyaninja - yeah that's what I reckon so am assuming it would be statutory rape. Sorry for going off topic a bit!

Collision · 09/01/2012 22:24

If I had to put the 3 men in order of fanciableness I would have to say

1 Rupert Graves - YUM!

2 Martin Freeman

3 Benedict Cumberbatch - eek! Do not find him remotely attractive!

The beast looked really unlifelike and unscary but I think they've gone for a bit of recycling , as I'm sure its the beast from a previous Sherlock .

This! It reminded me of the animation in the Richard Roxburgh/Ian Hart HOTB from 2002.

devonshireduckling · 10/01/2012 02:31

Just caught up with the first two Sherlocks (thanks to failed pain management i have so much more time at night for iplayer, grr: though Leonie, I think your links, ahem, managed my pain ...).

Sherlock 1: I know I should have been riffing on the Sherlock/dominatrix sexual chemistry but all I could think was "that dominatrix has the most amazing wallpaper". I don't even like wallpaper.

Anyone know where I can find the duck egg blue and gold wallpaper in her drawing room?

LineRunner · 10/01/2012 02:38

I'm just obsessing about Sherlock's hairstyle.

Is or isn't it actually shite?

devonshireduckling · 10/01/2012 02:54

Not entirely sure how you'd describe the style to a barber ... though I think it might smell delicious (slightly unwashed ...).

Sad to say, I don't like his Sherlock hair much. Silly little curls and bouffy shape. The overall effect, in combination with the patented Sherlock Stony Face and Gruff Delivery, is a little bit Jeremy Clarkson.

Not that it puts me off, in the final analysis, obviously. Grin

devonshireduckling, if you're on Twitter you could Tweet the director, Paul McGuigan. I've seen him answer set-dressing-related questions on there before.

Leonie, thanks for that Last Enemy clip! Jesus. Forceful, huh? [mops self up off floor emoticon]

LineRunner · 10/01/2012 11:50

I think his hair is just ever so slightly too long and too bouffe, yes.

StealthPenguin · 10/01/2012 12:31

Blush He is my computer background. I'm a Cumberbitch too!

There's something about him that just says "When we meet, there will be no words. I will say nothing. I will just walk up to you, push you against the nearest wall and do whatever it is in my power to do. You won't struggle, you won't fight. You will do just one thing - enjoy."

StealthPenguin · 10/01/2012 12:31

Sorry..... got a little bit carried away there!

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/01/2012 12:39

I think he'd be more, um, communicative than that in my filthy fantasies he is anyway.

At the risk of sounding churlish, can I ask for a thread without the leching over arses etc next week? If people want to do a "We are the cumberbitches" fan thread, maybe make a separate one? I just want to discuss the programme itself really: you don't have to fancy the lead to enjoy Sherlock, and it would be nice to have somewhere that stuck to that. I don't mean to cause offence or spoil anyone's fun, but I think it might be more accessible to keep the different aspects separate.

BlueChampagne · 10/01/2012 13:43

GFP rabbit here too. Disappointed that he tried to find impurities in the sugar using a microscope. We've moved on from 19th century haven't we? HPLC trace or something?

devonshireduckling · 10/01/2012 15:58

LadyClarice, I may have to join twitter just so I can quiz the director about many things ...

BlueChampagne my thoughts exactly.

Raahh · 10/01/2012 16:10

I know that Mrs Hudson's wallpaper is Sandersons -Finches (friend has it in her downstairs loo in a different colourway)Grin

Probably from John Lewis.

(That is the limit of my wallpaper related knowledge)

StealthPenguin · 10/01/2012 16:14

Am I the only one who wants Sherlocks' coat and the H.O.U.N.D t-shirt?

ScatterChasse · 10/01/2012 16:32

I did like the the 'long coat and short friend'.

And why would the man have worn the H.O.U.N.D. T-shirt? If his plan hadn't worked it would have been pretty incriminating.

devonshireduckling · 10/01/2012 17:18

That's impressive Raahh!

I really enjoyed the references to the original story but is what more of a romp than anything unnerving (the original story scared me to death).
