Am a teensy bit excited. Grin Grin Grin And NOT pregnant this series, so can watch without that sense of impending doom.

OP posts:
OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 04/01/2012 21:59

atruth OH got demobbed the month DD was born. If he hadnt been thrown in the glasshouse for a week for going out of bounds he wouldnt have made it in time Smile

ChippingInLovesChristmasLights · 04/01/2012 21:59

Freya is beautiful!!

Bloody madness, why he couldn't have a couple of weeks at home before he had to go? I know some have come home for the birth. Hard to imagine leaving your one day old baby and going to Afghan for 6 months :(

snowmaiden · 04/01/2012 21:59

SOOOOO!!! FUNNY!!! Outfit for the water!

KenDoddsDadsDog · 04/01/2012 21:59

As if that little red skirt is going to cover your fanjo from the world

Yama · 04/01/2012 22:00

Freya is gorgeous.

Hassled · 04/01/2012 22:01

I warmed to both dads by the end.

I just thought "I don't want one". Nature and age have coincided nicely - I'm very lucky, I know.

FriendofDorothy · 04/01/2012 22:01

One day indeed. A friend of mine is a male midwife at LGI and he declined to be part of the show :(

oflip · 04/01/2012 22:01

ohdoadmit i know it can be done, but its just not gonna happen for me.

Kinda made the decision that we would stop after my last mc.

Doesnt stop me wanting one desperately with every cell in my body.

Nature rules in my case Sad

CaveMum · 04/01/2012 22:02

Chipping, the problem is if his regiment are going away he has to go with them. They don't send one man at a time.
The deployment will have been planned many many months ago and the personnel out in Afghan cant come home till their reacements arrive.

Xmasbaby11 · 04/01/2012 22:03

not v impressed by this programme - seems to be all about the parents and not about the births!

Swimminglikeaduck · 04/01/2012 22:03

Sending oflip a hug

ATruthFestivelyAcknowledged · 04/01/2012 22:04

Going out of bounds on purpose MrsDeVere? Wink

oflip · 04/01/2012 22:04

na really im fine, thanks for the hugs they are lush Smile

roundtable · 04/01/2012 22:04

Oh my goodness, I had to stop typing as I was weeping! I want another baby! They were so scrummy and new. Grin

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 04/01/2012 22:05

People are being pretty vile on twitter about that couple.
How people can construct a whole lifestory/style from a few edited minutes out of a family's life I dont know.
They seemed a nice enough couple to me.

StarlightMcKenzie · 04/01/2012 22:06

There's a big sign at the end of the corridor that says 'ACTIVE BIRTH' yet both women were on their backs.

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 04/01/2012 22:08

Sorry oflip I didnt mean to minimize your experiences Sad
Just lots of people think they cant once they are past 40 (I know I was one of them!).
Have another hug

ATruthFestivelyAcknowledged · 04/01/2012 22:08

Our NCT teacher called it 'One born on their backs every minute' and tried to ban us all from watching the last series.

befuzzled · 04/01/2012 22:08

i was a bit like that "water outfit" lady first time around - had a spreadsheet of every item I needed and 3 page birth plan. My how I laughed, bitterly, when i read it a few weeks after first birth.

GetHerOffTheBloodyBed · 04/01/2012 22:09

Well. I may have said it a couple of times but they both had epidurals and we didn'[t see much of their labours so will let it slide for this week..

Kurt needs to grow up. He isn't that young and not an excuse. No 'Can I see my baby' or 'how's my partner' just I need a cig and I need a drink. Nob. Poor Beth.

other couple were lovely.

befuzzled · 04/01/2012 22:09

which couple are they being vile about? (cant be bothered with twitter anymore)

OhDoAdmitMrsDeVere · 04/01/2012 22:10

atruth well yes but not because he was thinking about getting home for the birth Hmm
He won a boxing match, got a bit pissed at an out of bounds nightclub, got caught and slung in jail for a few days, missed some thingy the rest of the battalion were going on so managed to get home in time for DD's birth.
He was a right twit in those days bless him. He was only 21 Grin

oflip · 04/01/2012 22:11

ohdoadmit you were not minimising you daft bag!! Grin not at all...in fact you offer me such hope and a nice warm feeling in my tummy Grin

Its lovely that you had 2, absolutely lovely, and thankyou for the lovely hugs.
x

Kayzr · 04/01/2012 22:11

I agree with getheroff, I fully understand that he was probably scared but not once did he ask how Beth or the baby was. He just needed a cig and to go to the pub.

NettoHoHoHoSuperstar · 04/01/2012 22:12

I wasn't very nice about the guy, admittedly.
It's because it reminds me of what I see, often.
Young girls, with guys like that, who are proud, and show off their weans for a week.
Once they've been dressed up in the baby football kit, they lose interest, and are back down the pub.

I live on a scheme, and it happens all the time, if the girl's lucky, she gets out before getting pregnant again.
