jolou... we actually had the curtains that were in his mum's house!

snowleopard · 02/02/2006 11:31

We had that picture of a cockerel that was on their wall!

Whoever thought up the series, I bet they dated it in 1973 for this exact reason - guaranteed to have their target audience of 30-somethings weeping into their sofas with nostalgia...

catsmother · 02/02/2006 20:37

My mum had the picture Sam's mum did of the Cornish harbour (Polperro ?) .... which I'd forgotten about until seeing it again. Very weird.

Cam · 02/02/2006 20:55

It is fab isn't it?

Here's some gossip for you: I went out with one of the writers of this series when we were both at the same university in the (late) 70's

kalex · 05/02/2006 20:29

What else has his "mum" been in - watching it on teleplus replay and it's bugging me. No help from IMDB.

bubble99 · 05/02/2006 20:43

She was Zoe in Coronation Street, I think.

kalex · 05/02/2006 20:46

Ahhh. Corrie!

Thank you

Pixel · 06/02/2006 19:25

Also Bad Girls (apparently) and played Sigourney in Dinnerladies.

Pixel · 06/02/2006 19:26

Roll on 9 o'clock. Must make sure kids are in bed nice and early, chores done and Baileys poured!

trying2bgood · 06/02/2006 19:28

it is a great show, well written, funny and touching!!! BBC have really come up trumps with this one.

Redtartanlass · 06/02/2006 21:07

I think Manchester United got relegated in 1973/74 season.

Redtartanlass · 06/02/2006 21:39

Doh....key ring...aftershave!!!

Redtartanlass · 06/02/2006 22:03

Hey Cam was it -

Hello, my name is Matthew and I co-created, co-produced and wrote five of the episodes.

Is Sam in a coma?
Is he insane?
Has he fallen back through time?
Is there a fourth possibility?

Much still lies in shadow. Listen to the music. It will guide you ...

And remember, 'Rule Britannia is out of bounds, to my mother, my dog and clowns ...'

Matthew Graham, Somerset

Whizzz · 06/02/2006 22:05

DH pointed out the air conditioning units & house alarm in the last bit of the prog where they were in the alley. (He takes great delight in looking for things that arent 70s!)

trying2bgood · 06/02/2006 22:06

bloody great episode, it was so funny! I think he is in a coma although it must be more than that!!! Cannot wait for next week!

Potty1 · 06/02/2006 22:07

Love it......Hi Karate aftershave and chicken in a basket.....takes me right back!

Redtartanlass · 06/02/2006 22:09

Yes but, what's with one of the writers saying "Listen to the music, it will guide you!!"

Whizzz · 06/02/2006 22:15

I think hes in a coma which is why he can sometimes hear voices & beeping of hospital machines.
I like trying to spot the bits round Manchester too !

Pixel · 06/02/2006 22:37

Well it starts off with him listening to Life on Mars which goes:-

Take a look at the lawman
Beating up the wrong guy
Oh man! wonder if he'll ever know
He's in the best selling show
Is there life on Mars?

Maybe that's what puts the idea in his head in the first place. And maybe his family are playing him music like you do to people in comas?

Redtartanlass · 06/02/2006 22:45

Mmmm Pixel food for thought!!

Cam · 07/02/2006 22:00

Yes RTL, his grandfather was Donald Wolfit

Redtartanlass · 07/02/2006 22:16

Cam - go on Friends reunited find out Graham's email address and find out the end for me!!!!

I have no patience, I read the first chapter of a book, then read thelast page

Cam · 09/02/2006 21:18

Somehow I don't think the producers of the show would let him do that, plus there is the tiny but inescapable fact that I haven't spoken to him for something like 25 years.......

redtartanlass · 09/02/2006 23:20

lol

Redtartanlass · 20/02/2006 22:01

Oh no last episode next week, I fear an anti-climax coming on.

I don't think anything is going to happen
