As he muttered "takes me back" ........ the reason you hardly ever see it these days is that the ingredients in most dog food have changed, it used to contain more bonemael/calcium.

One thing puzzled me, he used his leather jacket to mop up June's blood, but in the next scene, he was wearing it again ?
I've also been thinking, why doesn't Sam in 1973 write a note, give it to Annie, ask her to keep it and then, in the year whatever (before the accident), ask her to deliver it to the "real" Sam in that year. He could obviously direct her as to where he'd be working etc.
The note could be along the lines of "I know this seems mad but ...... this is YOUR writing isn't it, YOU wrote it in 1973, here are some very personal details about yourself which can only have been written by YOU, blah de blah etc."
Then, having been given that note in Annie's future, and his present - say in 2003 - when Sam goes back to 1973, he won't feel so frightened and so on.
Or am I sounding like a total nutter and thinking too hard ?
Better still, he could tell Annie the date and location of his accident, ask her to visit him in hospital (he keeps saying he must be in a coma) to see if she could make some sort of connection with him.
Should I just shut up and enjoy it for what is is ?
