WTF was she doing for her final dance! No wonder Brendan looked a bit embarrassed!

TheHumancatapult · 07/11/2011 05:35

i would imagine his dads death did knock him .

and do really hope Artem is ok love watching him dance and love the fact is Choreography is different

DandyDan · 07/11/2011 09:46

Since Artem couldn't dance in the Male Professionals dance this week, he was replaced by the Assistant Choreographer for the show, who happens to be Matt Flint - the winner from So you Think You Can Dance 2011.

Fiderer · 07/11/2011 09:59

Just watched last night's show and was wondering who choreographed the professionals' dances. Could be that I've not paid much attention to them before but thought the male one was quite lustworthy, er, good. So much for my saying earlier there were no watchable males

Loopy Lulu, Brendan did at least try (albeit rather half-heartedly) to dance with her but she ignored him.

Do wish they'd drop all the pretence about "yesterday". Everyone knows it's all filmed on the Sat.

As for JG, the least said the better. There is already one judge who's been a contestant and overmarks, I'd prefer someone with some dance knowledge. Karen Hardy, Matthew Cutler, Lilia or Darren...

Biscuitsandtea · 07/11/2011 10:05

That explains why I couldn't work out who the other male dancer was then!

I have to say - I am sure the girls pro dance had a certain appeal for the male viewers but it looked a bit more like a Pussy Cat Dolls video to me rather than one of the pro dances. i prefer the ones where there are some recognisable sort of steps or I can at least say 'there's a bit of cha cha' or something.

I'm obviously getting old I think.....

Prolesworth · 07/11/2011 10:27

DandyDan, thank you! It was bugging me that I couldn't work out where I'd seen Artem's stand-in before. Tap dancing Matt from SYTYCD, of course!

notyummy · 07/11/2011 10:32

Yes, I was squinting at him, wondering who he was. TBH, I was also busy pointing out to DH that he was slightly behind all the other ones and spoiling the dance slightly....but he was last minute stand-in then that explains it. He is quite short so it must be hard to keep up Grin.

Prolesworth · 07/11/2011 10:33

I was too busy leering looking at Pasha to notice

Pan · 07/11/2011 11:01

biscuits - yes re the women's pros. I put it as 'it was more like dancing girls than girls who can dance' - (girl/woman thing duly noted). Didn't recognise many steps, just lots of flesh and movement - on one simple level not complaining, but also realising this is SCD, not a pop promo, as you so rightly say. [def. getting a crotechy miserable old git emocion]

WhatsWrongWithYou · 07/11/2011 11:45

I didn't pay much attention to the girls' dance, until DH started muttering 'I don't think this is really appropriate.' Hmm I think it was verging on Pussycat Dolls territory - I guess we've more of that to look forward to!

teejwood · 07/11/2011 11:49

am wallowing in glee that we have managed to see off Dell'usional and Lulu in two consecutive weeks - result!
dc's keep asking me to replay russell and flavia's routine on iplayer and laugh like drains every time. i know it isn't strictly ballroom Wink but they are getting steps in there while plumbing the comedy element - which is better than some in the past, no? have to say i always thought flavia was pretty sound but this is showing she has a wicked sense of humour too.
quick question - has harry been v busy or something as he seems to have been given less footwork week on week and i just wondered if aliona was being kind to him?
at the moment chelsee and pasha (am with the droolers on that one Grin) seem so far ahead - the other nearly-rans really need to up their game!

teejwood · 07/11/2011 11:50

also agree with the pussycat dolls routine - come on ladies, you're better than that!

ScatterChasse · 07/11/2011 12:41

Apparently Aliona choreography this week's routine for the girls.

I'm saying nothing.

Biscuitsandtea · 07/11/2011 12:53

Grin Scatter

TheHumancatapult · 07/11/2011 15:54

i just watched the results show and caught Lula saying at the end its not fiar its really not and was looked at russel as she was saying it .tut she should realise people can lip read you know .

Brendan looked upset though Sad i like to see him get a real good dancer for next year

MinnieBloodBar · 07/11/2011 16:12

Ah DandyDan it took me until mid-morning today to work out where I'd seen the other male pro before! Good for him!

Pan · 07/11/2011 16:15

I thought Aliona's choreography was excellent, in that case.

OP posts:
CeliaFate · 07/11/2011 16:38

I'm glad she's gone - attention seeking twonk. I LOVED Zoe Ball on ITT a few weeks back saying, "Oh Lulu you haven't changed since the 60s - what's your secret?" Lulu squirmed a bit while we all shouted "Plastic surgery!!!"

Biscuitsandtea · 07/11/2011 16:41

Ah Celia - it wasnt just me yelling that at my TV then? I actually saved that bit for DH to watch because I thought it was so hilarious!

Fiderer · 07/11/2011 16:56

I fast forwarded through the women's pro dance. Thought it was v out of place.
I'd love to know what the others think of Aliona's choreography.

Itsjustafleshwound · 07/11/2011 17:03

Lulu did nothing to help herself - she didn't say anything at all about Brendan and is now moaning that he was too tall for her ....

Biscuitsandtea - totally with you on the women's pro dance, but I don't think it's that I'm getting old. I think it's that there are countless opportunities on TV for us to see people gyrating around in virtually no clothing doing their sex faces (was PMSL at Ola's by the way Wink ) There are precious few opportunities for us to see ballroom and latin experts doing proper partnered dancing and it's a real shame to see those chances wasted.

I've always looked forward to the pro dances. It's disappointing to see them becoming more and more like pop promos.

Seriously, WTF was that rolling around on the floor bit all about?

ScatterChasse · 07/11/2011 18:33

Ooh, ooh, I've just found one of my favourite ever pro dances on Youtube.

AprilAl · 07/11/2011 19:48

Oh yes Scatter, that's much more like it. More of that please
