Didn't like Chelsee until tonight, poor girl. Wondered who gave her the red scarf thing.
yy to AvengingGerbil's question.

ScatterChasse · 29/10/2011 21:50

I thought Anita, it looked like part of her costume, but not positive.

It's not on iPlayer yet grr, I want to see the bit I missed!

CaveMum · 29/10/2011 21:53

Sorry, just watched Holly's dance and it did nothing for me. Can't see the point of using ballet music Hmm

ScatterChasse · 29/10/2011 21:56

I liked the music, but I think it was a waste for a smooth, rumba would have been better imo,

but IT STILL SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN OBOE!!!

Fiderer · 29/10/2011 21:57

I was just glad it gave us some respite from the band - they were rotten tonight I thought.

ScatterChasse · 29/10/2011 22:00

Yep, not the band's greatest night. I put Karen on, just so I didn't have to listen to them [hblush]

Pan · 29/10/2011 22:04

yes, but Holly is a big-framed woman IYSWIM - no sliver - and to take the part of a swan so well was admirable. So, it was a ballet piece and yes Craig you are right Grin it shouldn't have been used,( and NOT with a flute FGS!) but it was still a fine interpretive dance. IN my very humble but biased opinion.

Robin gave Chelsee the coverup according to Digital Spr, talking of which, spoiler's out.

Fiderer · 29/10/2011 22:41

Blimey they've got a million threads over there. That's dedication.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 29/10/2011 22:51

Watched this late tonight - oh, I do love Chelsee. Don't think she's been done any favours by wardrobe (worst was the first night. When she had those sparkly shorts and weird blonde hair). I think she's sweet and funny and Pascha wufs her a bit. Poor girl was clearly mortified.

I wouldn't mind if Jason won - he does bore me a bit when he speaks but I think his heart's in the right place and I'd love for Kristina to win. Her choreography was so exquisite and clever tonight, she deserves to be showcased for much longer.

I said this earlier on, but I don't get why Alysha (however the eff you spell her name) gets her claws out in such spectacular fashion with Nancy. Can't stand Del'Olio but it's all a bit discomfitting to see such blatantly nasty comments made and everyone (including Bruce) cackling away. She clearly has the skin of a rhino so in that respect no harm done I suppose, but it's not a very edifying experience to see the pretty-faced Alysha show her true character.

And her 10s are a joke.

Pan · 29/10/2011 22:53

I think Nancy is mental notes for her new book....

#Glad someone else said aliesha has blanket stapled to her chest!

CaveMum · 30/10/2011 08:17

If you watch the show back on Iplayer you see Robin waiting for Chelsee at the top of the stairs and he drapes the red fabric (presumably from Anita's dress) around her neck before she walks through to join Tess. Bless him.

Alesha was right about Nancy's legs being idly far apart. She seems to have no sense of closing them together so they appear to swing around independently. She obviously lives in a world of her own and I think (still) Anton is a saint for not having had a melt down with her Brendan/Fiona Philips stylee!

bebeballroom · 30/10/2011 08:22

Just having a quick catch up! Really thought it was disappointing last night. Band/singers were not on form at all, the dances were all lacking something(although did actually like Holly, thought it was brave & imaginative). The stylists/wardrobe outdid themselves though (Chelsee aside), job well done there!

Previously not liked Chelsee (although think she has potential to be really good) but felt just SO sorry for her. Poor girl. I didn't see the actual 'wardrobe malfunction' (did anyone) but I thought that she had gone wrong & thrown herself off, so that must have been it. Wardrobe totally to blame, her dress was beautiful but not enough on top for a girl of ample boobage! Just wanted to give her a hug!

Jason was disappointing I thought & not worth the score he got. (But maybe I'm alone on that one)

And as for Nancy....erm....there are no words really......terrifying?! Hmm :o

Felt sorry for Audley, Jive is not a big mans dance!

Lulu - making a fuss out of 'flying'...I saw her as Peter Pan in Panto when I was about 6 & she flew then!!!! (She did better than Widdy! Wink Even if she did nearly miss the platform on the way back up!!)

Harry - I love Harry, but Aliona is letting him down. I don't even really remember his dance from last night! Confused

Russel l- love him, he is such a poppet! Not the best dancer, but his enjoyment of it just makes you smile & enjoy what he is doing, pure entertainment!

Anita - Don't remember her dance. Was v distracted by new kitten last night. Blush

Not sure who will go...ought to be Nancy but will probably be Audley.

Bossybritches22 · 30/10/2011 08:52

Knowing Nancy (as we all do natch) she's got legions of minions lined up to vote for her repeatedly. The woman has absolutely no sense of musicality, timing or any understanding of how much she is loathed.

Did you see her on Graham Nortons show, she just babbled on, a complete load of tosh, & totally ignored the actual questions?!

I feel sorry for poor Anton, he must despair of getting someone he can actually work with as opposed to lug around!

D'you think they deliberately do it, & pay him extra as he's the only one with the patience to endure it???!

WhoIsThatMaskedWoman · 30/10/2011 09:07

Nancy can't have that many voters, she's been in the bottom two twice already. Truly popular contestants like Sargeant or Widdicombe were nowhere near the bottom two until much later on.

I don't think either Erin or Anton will ever get a real contender because they don't do The Tour; they're engaged with their own tour.

Bossybritches22 · 30/10/2011 09:10

Ah yes you're right WITMW......maybe it's just a few minions then!!

Of course Erin & Anton probably don't toe the party line so don't get the best pairings!

Are we not having ANY dance offs then? That would get rid of her.....

dalek · 30/10/2011 09:22

I know that most of you think that Harry didn't deserve a 10 but he danced the choreography he was given PERFECTLY - this week and last week. Whereas Jason made a mistake and still got a 10 - where's the consistency? Len is the same - his scoring is all over the place. Craig is harsh but fair.

I think Holly, Anita, Lulu, Alex are consistently overmarked - and Jason was this week.

I am loving Chelsea more and more - she's so much better than she thinks she is and I love her partnership with Pasha.

Am also liking Robbie - didn't expect to.

I was just watching Kara and Artem's American Smooth and Viennese waltz back on youtube - two of the most beautiful dances I've ever seen - and then watching him with Holly this evening - Artem is the most generous choreographer - he always showcases his partner and makes them look good.

Contrast with Brendan. DD said that Brendan was so good he was making Lulu look bad.

That's my twopenny worth!

demonicma · 30/10/2011 09:36

love Pasha and Robin for looking after wee Chelsee.
haven't seen all the rest yet
Can't get past looking at the photo of Harry up thread.....just one more look...

wheelshavefallenoffthebus · 30/10/2011 10:11

Felt sorry for Chelsee. Hope she knows that no-one saw her boob.
Has anyone tried watching the US version? I managed about 5 mins, it is so OTT! I fear SCD is heading the same way with "hilarious" skits and less dancing.
I do love SCD though, gets me in the mood for Christmas

Animation · 30/10/2011 11:09

I agree that Harry is better than Jason on all levels.

I've always thought Jason seems to be a judges favourite, but I don't rate him that much yet, mainly because there's little chemistry or eye balling of his partner. He's a too self contained and playing to the audience for my liking - too eager to be liked.

Animation · 30/10/2011 11:12

"Was Alesha hugging a duffle coat? - odd look I thought!"

Grin - very heavy bulky material.

Prolesworth · 30/10/2011 11:27

Artem's choreography is amazing, but why do they keep putting Holly in leotards for ballroom dances (she had no skirt for the cell block tango and now the AS)? It looks horrible when they're dancing in hold Confused

And where is Kara? Why no Kara in the audience cheering Artem on? Have they split up?

Kara and Artem's AS is my all-time favourite Strictly dance :)

Animation · 30/10/2011 11:58

"Artem's choreography is amazing, but why do they keep putting Holly in leotards for ballroom dances (she had no skirt for the cell block tango and now the AS)? It looks horrible when they're dancing in hold"

Yes I agree about the leotard.

Also didn't like how she ended by balancing astride his one leg. Looked unsophisticated and a bit rude! Blush

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 30/10/2011 12:32

I thought everyone was slightly off-colour last night. Was v disappointed with Russell as in training he was looking great, and clearly loved the dance. His knee must have been bothering him.

I do sympathise with Chelsee, but at the end of the day there was no boobage revealed and yet even at the end of the show she still had a face like a wet weekend. Grow up and get over it!

Holly and Artem impressive but not moving in any way.

Audley not good. I still love him and his positive attitude though.

Nancy ? I'm just bored now. The judges are nasty to her but she and Anton don't help by spending half an hour having a private chat/playing up to the audience when they come over for the judges' comments.

Harry ? excellent but I have to agree with Len I wanted to see more proper tangoing. It's not as if he's not capable of it.

Anita ? I like her but this week and last I felt her performance was underpowered and overmarked. For the first time this week I thought her acting and characterisation was poor.

Have forgotten about Lulu and Brendan already. Find them soooo unmemorable.

Robbie ? has the potential to improve technically and should, rather than relying on the tedious thrusting and gyrating. He didn't capture the proper paso character, shaping or body strength at all.

Alex ? again, pretty much forgotten about it already but don't agree with Alesha that it was a 'breakthrough'.

Jason quite good, can't warm to him but I love Christina and liked her routine. He had obviously worked really hard to get the timing right on the bits where she was waving her wand at him and he had to 'respond' to it with his back to her.

Is that everyone? Underwhelming night, was my overall impression.
