LadyClarice I completely agree with everything you said! I was ready to be thrilled, as I was during Broadway week, but I just thought "Oh. Is that it?"

EdlessAllenPoe · 30/10/2011 14:42

loved: Jason Donavon in his 'Bewitched' turn...done with style. only did a bit of his 'come face'

Chelsee - she was doing so well, but i didn't think her dress was properly fitted..and this was confirmed when it failed her! then perved over by the horrendous Bruce. Yuck.

Holly - nice positions, but where was the dancing in hold...? lots of Artem picking her up, not much of her footwork...

lacklustre: Harry & Aliona - could have been sooo much better! wot no dancing in hold!

good but Meh: Alex (lovely dance, forgettable person) Lulu (some more dancing please!)

ok: nancy- it just felt a bit 'dancing by numbers' ...stiff, not much motion..

shocking: Russell - rubbish this week, injury taking its toll?

I agree with Len....though generally it felt a bit weak this week...less practice time for this one?

2BoysTooLoud · 30/10/2011 14:59

I love Brucie,,
All I wanted to say!!

TheHumancatapult · 30/10/2011 15:23

2boys he drawer attention to something she was already upset about amd had a d good loom over the top. He deserved the stop looking from pasha

Fiderer · 30/10/2011 15:38

I thought Bruce was taken aback and flustered, didn't know what had happened or how to react. Then when he realised it was a WM he blustered as he always does with a bit of showbiz drama. Don't think he was leching.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 30/10/2011 15:40

I agree with Fiderer about Bruce.

Pan · 30/10/2011 15:44

yes he was just a bit guache about it all.

Not 'spoiled' but suspecting we will be seeing some go in an Audley manner. ( did we know he has large feet?)

I thought the show was flatter because I was distracted by the Halloween stuff and not paying enough attention to the dancing, though the band was noticeably odd.
Occurs to me now that it wasn't only that. The show seems increasingly gimmicky, the props, the daft VTs, jumping on desks and running up stairs.
I do miss the VTs showing more training as you'd see how hard it is to master the dances in a week and you learn more of the technical details the judges comment on.

Biscuitsandtea · 30/10/2011 15:55

I totally agree about the 'training' videos. every person has some staged gimmick in it now - like a little planned and acted bit - silly really - I just want to know how they got on in training.

In fact, isn't that what Bruce says? 'Here's how they got on in training' (I always record and fast forward through Bruce) Blush

He'll have to change it to say 'here's the daft bit of video that they've put together this week...'

CaveMum · 30/10/2011 15:56

I've never been a fan of the themed shows, to me they detract from the actual dancing. SCD is in danger of becoming a replica of DWTS which, from the few episodes I've seen, is a total cheese-fest.

SazZaVoom · 30/10/2011 15:59

I agree with the training videos, i always used to like seeing how the contestants started to master the steps and sequences through to giving their performance. Now there are stooooopid bloody video set up scenes which are particularly twattish Angry

Pan · 30/10/2011 16:00

yes, if there are 11 contestants, and each do one and-a-half minute dance, that's...... not many minutes excatly!! Out of an hour's programme that isn't very much, compared with all of the gurning at cameras going on.

OP posts:
ScatterChasse · 30/10/2011 16:33

I don't mind it when it shows a bit of a messing around/set up, but I do actually like to see the training. And yep, it's gone too gimmicky for me.

I don't mind the music being themed for a week, but I'd like proper dancing, so I suppose more like Jason's.

I don't like the silly VTs either but I expect it's a filler thing and also prob because so much of it is shown on ITT in the week.

I think they've rather sensibly decided that the casual viewers would like the gimmicky comedy footage whilst the hardcore purity of daaaaance mob (which includes me) who'd like to see the training footage and have the choreography discussed can watch it on the minority show.

God I hate the way they dub applause and cheering over the dance routines Angry

Twice during that pro routine there were sound effects of cheering and clapping but you could SEE that the audience were sat quietly!

Doilooklikeatourist · 30/10/2011 19:34

I love Jason, Holly , Harry and Russell .
Don't mind most of the rest
But really don't like Lulu . And she's first through . Why ?

gailforce1 · 30/10/2011 19:35

Fed up with the Halloween theme, lets get back to non-themed dancing.

Agree with everything CaveMum!

Pan · 30/10/2011 19:36

There isn't much time forthe public to vote is there?

OP posts:
CaveMum · 30/10/2011 19:38

Seems I'm the only one here for the results show?!

Did anyone hear Vernon Kay on Radio 1 talking about Tess' polka dot dress from last week? He said she [hoiks bosom & whispers Les Dawson style] wasn't wearing anything underneath and that they had to apply tons of toupee (well he called it double sided Sellotape, but we know what he means) to keep it in place.

On the basis of last nights dance Audley does deserve to be in the bottom 2. Just hope Nancy is there with him [crosses fingers]

CaveMum · 30/10/2011 19:39

Oops, x-posted with everyone there!

you're right Pan I think lines are only open for 45 minutes at the most.

Pan · 30/10/2011 19:39

yes, CM - the rest of us are just Halloween ghouls Shock
