Susie, I think he just has a rank stinky arm that is going septic. Hopefully with the help of Meryl's stash he might be ok. But as they killed off quite a few last season,.who knows what is going to happen. Not spoiled by the way, am only one ep ahead and I won't see ep 3 until monday!

I enjoyed the second episode. Good to see Rick and Shane rekindling their bromance over Rick's son's sickbed. I get the impression that everyone's forgetting about the missing girl though (and her mother is remarkably calm). I wonder where she is? The cynic in me thinks that arm injury guy will live because otherwise they're going to get a bit short on ethnic diversity (am entering the minds of cynical casting people here, not complaining about ethnic diversity). And Daryl has really calmed down...two episodes and no meltdowns. Good to see him rescuting arm injury guy (obviously not a complete racist then).

Regarding the hospital...WTF? Did it not occur to them that they might need an exit strategy?

I must admit that I was kind of getting concerned we were going to get a bit short of action as this episode was running and that it'd turn into one of these shows where they just develop peoples characters and forget the blood and guts.

But the end put my mind to rest.

somewhere they really needed to read a good old MN zombie thread before attempting what they did.Bet they didn't even take their OFRS....

I have yet to form a full opinion on 'Flesh Eaters' but it's proving to be good easy reading so far - just want to see how the story develops.

Yes, I think Shane's brilliant idea with the flares wasn't totally thought through. He really should have held a couple back for the escape.
And maybe tried to plan an exit stragegy before they went in.

I liked the bit at the beginning when Lori was talking about her and Egg's row.
Bit of self awareness there. Maybe she's not quite as bad as I thought. Although I did want to slap her after her meltdown wtih the vet.
The bonding between Shane and Rick was cute.

Somewhere I have to say I wasn't too impressed with the search party either.
All searching together, in a group? They looked more like they were out for a leisurely sunday afternoon walk. Apart from Andrea falling over whie being chased.
And they didnt seem to be calling out for her much either. If I was her, I'd stay hidden with all that rustling through the trees, incase, you know, they were zombies.

I thought the farm house where the vet lives looked remarkably unprepared for a zombie attack, just standard windows and doors with people relaxing on the porchHmm

Yes susie I'd forgotten about that.

Given that all those zombies were up on the road,and a little ol' gang of them in the church,you would think they'd at least have someone on lookout.

I'm more aware of what's going on outside when I'm expecting my Avon Lady than they were....

It's a lovely house though,isn't it? I'd love a verandah like that.

OK just watched it.

That gore-splattered carseat was awful. Sad

Lori was still annoying- her reaction when arriving at the farm was moving but then the smart arse comments about the 'idiot who shot our son' were just flippant and jarring.

In other news- Darryl rules. He tells zombies to shut up, he comes up with good back up plans, he actually listens to people and he has a huge stash of drugs. I know who I'd repopulate with.
