OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2011 00:17

Why did she shot him? Did she mean to or just a crap shot?

Puzzling about the zoombies in the barn

Obviously that chain and lock won't hold for much longer .........

AWimbaWay · 22/11/2011 08:00

She meant to shoot him, thought he was a zombie.

yawningmonster · 22/11/2011 08:18

I think the barn ones are either loved ones kept in the hope that a cure is found or more ominously as a protection against other survivors taking over their resources so maybe they feed those extra people they don't want to their zombie pets in the barn???
BTW definately meant to shoot him, she was doing the whole I am taking care of myself I don't need Dale or anyone routine and I can shoot a zombie only she didn't check her target properly...lucky she was a crap shot.

somewherewest · 22/11/2011 10:00

There are now two more episodes to go in the UK, six and seven. I think we're heading for a climax where Shane finds out about the barn and baby (sounds like a pretentious Cotswolds gastropub doesn't it?) and tries to supplant Rick as Alpha male. Hopefully scarey-when-necessary season 1 Rick re-emerges and smacks him down.

somewherewest · 22/11/2011 10:02

episode 6 spoilers

Wow, Andrea doesn't beat around the bush Grin. As someone on Television Without Pity put it, at least we've now established that Sophia isn't hiding in Shane's pants.

countessbabycham · 22/11/2011 16:57

Right,DH and I have discussed this.No more messing about. It's a survival of the fittest thing - back to natural selection.Time to shoot Herschel and any of his clan who will not submit to new leadership, and take over The Farmhouse The Apocalypse Forgot.

Although it isn't safe it seems a lot safer than the alternative.

Set up some form of early warning system (a la 28 Days Later) and step up guards. It's a nice defensible position.

Go out and make sure got weapons, lots of ammo, and medical supplies etc and step up training - weapons, medical, fitness and maintenance.Deal with the Barn.

Send out parties to see if any other groups exist at Fort Whatever,or anywhere else.Hold position till viable option either turns up or is planned.

Simple!

susiedaisy · 22/11/2011 18:00

countess I like the way you think Grin

wintera · 22/11/2011 19:22

Shane really makes my skin crawl. Was watching that bit where he and Rick were out looking for Sophia, and he's talking about his various conquests and he just makes me sick basically. Can't stand him, I think le's a horrible human being. I'd like to see him suffer a really gruesome death like the one he inflicted on poor Otis. It would be poetic justice indeed if a zombie Otis came out of the forest and ripped him to shreds!

countessbabycham · 22/11/2011 19:39

Shane is indeed a dreadful specimen of humanity.

But he's kind of hot now he's shaved his hair.....

susiedaisy · 22/11/2011 19:48

He's an absolute pig, but a good looking one Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/11/2011 19:50

agree shane is good looking now shaved

'drools'

countessbabycham · 22/11/2011 20:17

He also fits nicely in line with my new ruthless streak.....

countessbabycham · 22/11/2011 20:24

Daryl is hot but he's got a bit of a soft streak - he maybe just ain't NASTY enough.

Shane is trained in weapons (and other assorted skills from his time in the police) and is FIT (in both senses). I have come to the realization that for a chance of survival in the apocalypse you need to be a nasty, hard, ruthless bastard.

I'll take him on....

Eggrules · 22/11/2011 21:18

Fair play to countessbabycham for taking one for the team. Shane is likely to shoot you in the kneecap and leave you for zombie dinner. He wouldn't need much shampoo thoughGrin.

countessbabycham · 22/11/2011 21:39

Shane won't hurt me Eggrules.I've already made Dale a happy man by repopulating with him a little (see,I knew it was a good tactic!) so I know he'll defend me with that big gun of his GrinShane may be fitter than Dale, but he still has to sleep.....

anonacfr · 22/11/2011 21:58

Problem is Shane has no loyalty. He was thinking of shooting his best friend in the back FFS!

And quite frankly he's a hopeless survivalist. He wasted water on two separate occasions and when he was leader of the pack he had 'his' group sleeping in tents FFS! I mean with the number of empty houses in the surrounding countryside why would you be happy to stay in tents???? And why not attempt raids in nearby places to get medicine/tampons/more tampons and clean clothes? And why not train the group (and yes that includes the gasp WOMEN) in basic self defence? And why not make sure everyone gets used to walking around with a club/bat/tree branch at ALL times in case they need it?

I'm still with Daryl. I haven't seen ep 6 yet (I was all set to watch it- Kiddies in bed, house to myself when my mother called. And kept me on the phone for an hour) so might find out more about his soft streak when I do but he's loyal and is by far the most skilled at staying alive.

Not sure I could get used to squirrel sushi though.

Eggrules · 22/11/2011 21:58

Always thinking countess - I like it Wink

anonacfr · 22/11/2011 22:07

And for the record Shane is not fit!!!!
He has a donkey face and weird moobs.

And he's a rapist.

AWimbaWay · 23/11/2011 09:44

Shane reminds me of one of <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=o+brother+where+art+thou&um=1&hl=en&biw=1280&bih=675&tbm=isch&tbnid=EPV_FK7zf-O_8M:&imgrefurl=annehelenpetersen.wordpress.com/2009/09/07/george-clooney/o-brother-where-art-thou-6/&docid=xQu2Q2NVbAR9GM&imgurl=annehelenpetersen.files.wordpress.com/2009/09/o-brother-where-art-thou-6.jpg%253Fw%253D570&w=570&h=364&ei=QbrMTomZL8yxhAeNwNzODQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=171&vpy=329&dur=1424&hovh=179&hovw=281&tx=188&ty=58&sig=101439118133729732816&page=11&tbnh=117&tbnw=183&start=180&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:12,s:180" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">these with his head shaved, and no, not George Clooney.

wintera · 23/11/2011 10:38

Sorry but Shane is NOT fit with his head shaved. He looks worse if anything. His features are too long to pull that look off. Agree with Anon ..... the nickname Donkeyface suits him a treat! Would like to see him get all uppity with Daryl so that Daryl can bitch slap him good style!

anonacfr · 23/11/2011 10:45

Exactly wintera! I love the way Daryl was so dismissive of sheriff Rick a couple of episodes ago.
Fact is Shane might act all tough with his uniform and his guns but if it came down to it Daryl would bitch slap him every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Speaking of sheriff Rick was I the only one to cringe when Carol called Lori the First Lady of the group and you could so tell that despite her feeble protests Lori totally agreed with her?

yawningmonster · 23/11/2011 10:46

I am in a different country so not sure where you are up to but anyone else seen the next episode yet?

JKSLtd · 23/11/2011 11:28

I'm definitely in the no-to-shane camp!
I hate his nose for some reason.

I think I could get used to squirrel if that meant I could have Daryl :)

Countess - i like your thinking, but i'm not sure that remote farmhouse is the best option, i was thinking more a high rise somewhere, but then the zombies in the school (when Shane shot Otis) seemed to manage the stairs so that's off now.

somewherewest · 23/11/2011 11:44

I totally love the idea of Shane challenging Rick and Daryl intervening to slap him down Grin. For all his survivalism Daryl has more in common with Rick, for example in his determination to find Sophia. I don't think he'd take kindly to Shane's 'we should've cut our losses early on' argument, especially now he's bonded a bit with Carol.

Shane's one of those guys who is oddly good-looking despite really not being good-looking if you know what I mean. He's a complete knob, but I hope he stays around because he makes for great TV (I particularly like the complex love / hate relationship he has with Rick). Can't wait to see how he reacts when he finds out about the baby...

uniCorny · 23/11/2011 16:52

I was thinking a lot little about the bit at the end where Daryl is lying on the bed with his chest bare Grinand when Carol comes in he covers himself up with the sheet right up to his neck.
