Starts tomorrow night at 10pm in case you didn't already know!

And the last episode of Season 1 is on before in case you need to remember what happened

OP posts:

Melty love it!(especially notes re:Glenn!)

I'd be up for zombie book club.

StealthPolarBear · 19/11/2011 23:24

my best are that Lori will die in approx 9 (programme) months time...

EmmaRoyd · 20/11/2011 09:12

really struggling for Xmas present ideas for DH. We both love this programme so I thought after reading your recommendations I might get hm World War Z. Just looked on amazon and there are a few versions, which one should I order?

daryl's brother had hands last week - what was that all about?

uniCorny · 21/11/2011 09:09

dunno about the std situation though

notyummy · 21/11/2011 09:15

Watched Friday's episode last night and was v vexed at stupid Andrea. Have also decided that thick forests are a very effective device for making you convinced that they worst is going to happen any second, without the need for any special effects.

On books - would def recommend The Passage. It's not zombies..... but not a million miles off (certainly apocolyptic...) and I loved it.

DH and I spend a good 20 minutes during last nights episode arguing over whether zombies could get to an island or not - i.e can they swim? Do they need air? (Answers: Don't know....and probably not.) (Obviously this was sparked during a chat about our zombie apocolypse action plan.) He was citing Bill Nighy and crew in Pirates of the Caribean as evidence of underwater, walking zombies. I ask you! Hmm Grin.

Melty · 21/11/2011 09:53

Unicorny, Merle was a hallucination, so in Daryls head he still had his hand.

Eggrules · 21/11/2011 13:22

Notyummy I reckon they can move but looking at the bloated well zombie, this wouldn't be pretty.

AWimbaWay · 21/11/2011 13:29

Dh has kindly said should the zombie invasion come to fruition, and I thought he was dead, he would have no problem with me latching on to the next available bloke with a gun, especially if it meant he could fight off the zombies whilst I ran in the opposite direction with the dcs, bless him. He wasn't too impressed with the length of time it took me to stop laughing when we discussed the reverse situation of a strong gun toting woman agreeing to protect small nerdy IT dh in return for sexual favours.

JKSLtd · 21/11/2011 14:49

Just watching now :)

JKSLtd · 21/11/2011 15:03

Gawd that Andrea is a stupid bint!!!

wintera · 21/11/2011 15:56

I think I am in a minority here but I find Andrea infinitely more annoying than Lori. All in all I thought the latest episode was very good indeed. There's no way that the crappy barn door is gonna hold all those zombies though.

EmmaRoyd · 21/11/2011 16:13

thanks notyummy

Can I just say that Glen and Maggies tryst was very badly arranged. First it's her house so she should have known good shag venue and neither of them wrote down a time.

PaulaMummyKnowsBest · 21/11/2011 18:17

why did the "walker" only nibble Daryl's shoe? Surely they normally go for the fleshy bits?

At least we now know what the "blanks" are....zombies in the barn!!!!!

Eggrules · 21/11/2011 19:30

I think the time was as soon as possible.

Why didn't the campers ask to sleep in the barn? Wink

JKSLtd · 21/11/2011 20:16

My thinking is one of 2 things

  1. they are all people they farm-lot used to know, friends & families & they are hoping for a 'cure' to save them all

or

  1. they are random zombies they have caught with bad plans in mind for them....(not sure what though)

I cannot believe in these programmes how little people ask questions/how accepting everyone is.
It was the same with Lost, people just never asked the questions.

I just think it's weird for the 'travellers' to camp so far from the house, you'd think people would want to cling together & be near people - at least until they got pissed off with individuals anyway!

susiedaisy · 21/11/2011 20:51

I can understand keeping the group away from the farmhouse, I mean if a bunch of random desperate strangers with guns turned up on my doorstep in an apocalypse there's no way I would let them in my home tbh, I think it would quickly turn into survival of the fittest, if I had managed to survive that long I wouldn't risk it,

JKSLtd · 21/11/2011 20:57

That's true Susie - but would you not be relieved to see other living humans? Not if you are storing loads of the undead in your barn obv, but if you were normal!
At least get them to camp near the house? I mean i have no idea how many bedrooms there are - though it looks large - so i could understand not fitting them all in. Just seems so weird when zombies could wander through at any time, and possibly in a 'herd' not to keep together.

But then our lot started out by camping out in the open which made no sense either.

I am getting fed up with the women too - i'm fairly sure i would be a squealing heap of uselessness but i'd like to think some of us would get tough, learn to use guns, kill zombies, etc.

Eggrules · 21/11/2011 21:01

BTW please let me sleep in on laundry day. Unlike Lori I will not be gutted to miss out on the washing of undercrackers.

moragbellingham · 21/11/2011 21:08

I'm thinking that hte barn zombies are being kept for sentimental reasons too. No wonder Rick was advised by the local vet to move on soon.

I am also confused as to why, over the series, that sometimes the zombies can run fast and sometimes just stagger. There seems to be no evolution apart from the gills.
Am also mesmerised by Daryl - a Prada model?????!!!!

countessbabycham · 21/11/2011 22:18

EmmaRoyd I didn't know there was more than one version of World War Z....
It should be compulsory reading IMO (on A level syllabus or something).

morag I reckon the speed a zombie can go could depend on 2 factors:

1.The injuries sustained when becoming zombiefied and
2.The level of decomposition.

Anyone seen the latest one yet Wink?

EmmaRoyd · 21/11/2011 22:23

sorry countess you're right it was me being thick.

No not seen the latest one yet, I've been sitting here googling Daryl and Mingus Reedus

susiedaisy · 21/11/2011 23:02

Melty · 21/11/2011 23:40
