Starts tomorrow night at 10pm in case you didn't already know!

And the last episode of Season 1 is on before in case you need to remember what happened

OP posts:
susiedaisy · 14/11/2011 20:40

Ok well if we are talking settling with one, then I think Glen, n he seemed sweet last week and not at all presumptuous Smile

anonacfr · 14/11/2011 20:47

The more I see Dale the more he makes my skin crawl actually. I'm perturbed by his possessiveness towards Andrea.

I quite want Darryl's necklace... Grin

countessbabycham · 14/11/2011 20:59

Exactly anon.No one else will be fighting me for my zombie meal man...

Candid · 14/11/2011 21:01

I've been watching this and I love it.

I have some questiosn please because I am a zombie dunce and you all seem to have the Phd in Zombieotics

Why are the zombies not starving to death? There doesn't appear to be many people around. Do they not die from hunger? And if they don't die from hunger (that well zombie looked like he'd been there for years) then why the hell do they need to eat people??! It makes no sense to me.....

bilblio · 14/11/2011 21:49

Just seen episode 5. What's with the necklace?

ZombiePlan · 14/11/2011 21:58

They can eat each other, Candid. Plus, they can't exactly starve to death...

Candid · 14/11/2011 22:07

Eat each other? Surely then there'd be no zombies left.

My point exactly that they can't actually starve to death so what do they need to devour humans for? Am I overthinking this....? Hmm

anonacfr · 14/11/2011 22:52

In 28 Days Later zombies could die of hunger but they weren't real zombies. In World War Z it appears zombies are immortal. They freeze every winter and thaw again in the summer and underwater zombies roam seas and waters years after they were turned.

I'm not sure how decomposition works though- maybe the less they eat the more they decompose? So they become less agile and more damaged it don't die? Fresh meat would help them maintain a better state. Or it's jet a craving- like a drug.

anonacfr · 14/11/2011 23:15

Btw the random words are courtesy of my stupid IPod not my brain imploding from too much zombie musing!

MartyrStewart · 14/11/2011 23:16

Zombies don't actually need to eat for the food, they just have a desire for human flesh. Because they do not digest or breathe etc they can live indefinitely until they rot away. The desire for human flesh is part of the 'virus' that makes them zombies.

Because the normal bacteria that breaks down dead bodies will not go near a zombie, they can stay relatively well preserved for a lot longer than it would take for a human corpse to decompose.

They eat because they are zombies, not for any nutritional benefit.

Loved the last episode, but I thought that the 'limp' Daryl had was a deliberate teaser and that he was injured rather than bitten.

Bloated zombie was horrible though.

I'm interested in the 'rules' that they will have to follow in order to be allowed to stay on the farm. Wonder if it has anything to do with the barn?

anonacfr · 14/11/2011 23:16

And no, zombies don't eat each other.

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2011 23:28

i dont rem any daughter/sophia

god , i MUST pay attention and drink less booze when watching

StealthPolarBear · 14/11/2011 23:48

Right just caught up and have the usual list of questions:

Why do they so desperately need to stay there, surely there must be hundreds of abandoned farmhouses around. Some may EVEN have indoor bathrooms

Why is Lori such a bitch? The look she gave the guy who had just risked life and limb to get her a hpt.

Why are they all so obsessed about keeping Amstrad away from guns. Do they think she's going to shoot them or is it the suicide thing? I'm the mossy positive person I know, but in a land where death by zombie was probable I'd be considering suicide. Can't believe they think they have the right to stop her.

Why didn't they lassoo the well zombie from the top. Or at least TRY that first. How did glen end up being the one to go down and why did the words "youve got to be fucking joking" never get uttered?

Is anyone else struggling to understand their accents? It takes me 15.mins or so to get back into it, until then I really can't understand what they're saying.

StealthPolarBear · 14/11/2011 23:49

Andrea not Amstrad!

StealthPolarBear · 14/11/2011 23:52

Oh Nd why was Rick sitting by his sons bedside looking knackered? TaKe the hat off, get in, snuggle up with him and doze you idiot. And why are they STILL leaving Carl alone? Eg at funeral. Weak and bed bound, zombie fodder. Doesn't seem to bother them. My dcs would be sellotaped to me.

Melty · 15/11/2011 00:13

Because it's written by people who clearly don't have children. Or girlfriends/wives come to that. (See our earlier whinges about badly written female characters.)
Geeky boys who never grew up, spent all their spare time writing graphic novels, and now tv.
And they need to stay there so we can meet the next obstacle. Hence not finding Sophia either. Grin

Despite that, I really do love this show!

anonacfr · 15/11/2011 07:54

Bloated zombie was hilarious!

To be fair at the moment they're stuck at the farm until Carl gets better. I can understand Rick wanting to stay on as a gut reaction- he arrived in a panic with his mortally wounded son and found himself in a nice clean place rangy a man who calmly took control and saved his son's life. The farmlooks like places did before the infestation and as such must be hugely comforting.
Except our group of idiots still wander round intheir dirty clothes and camp outside. Apart from Shane who for some reason was allowed a shower and clean clothes.

Lori is a bitch just because. Apparently she was also awful in the comics.

Re the way women are written. It is truly shocking- not just what they say but the way the men feel entitled to tell them what they can and cannot do. In a situation like that wouldn't you want Romans everyone in your group was capable? Instead last season the women were actually doing the ironing!
This season they're mostly whining or crying or getting themselves pregnant.

anonacfr · 15/11/2011 07:55

Rangy?

Romans?????

Melty · 15/11/2011 08:19

OK, rangy=with
Romans =??? to know??
I need to know!
Grin gotta love autocorrect/spellcheck

susiedaisy · 15/11/2011 08:19

I agree the women are portrayed as a liability in this programme where they need a man to step in a save them every time a zombie shows up, I was pleased that at least maggie, manages to roam around on her horse killing the walkers and shagging a bloke with no strings attached Grin

notyummy · 15/11/2011 08:23

You are right about the female characters. I do love the show, but we could do with some slightly more kick-ass/sympathetic female chararacters - obviously with flaws etc, but just not quite as weedy/annoying as they seem to be at the moment.

ZombiePlan · 15/11/2011 08:30

I thought the zombies did eat each other sometimes - wasn't that what had happened to the one who hanged himself before changing - all the flesh had been stripped from his lower limbs. Did I misinterpret that bit? Confused...

notyummy · 15/11/2011 08:40

I thought it was animals that had done that Zombieplan.

AWimbaWay · 15/11/2011 09:35

I think the hanging zombie wasn't a zombie yet when he hung himself, but before he could die from hanging the zombies got him and so he turned into a hanging zombie.

AWimbaWay · 15/11/2011 09:49

Melty, agree that the writers obviously don't have kids, When Sophia went running into the trees and her Mum just left it to Rick to go in after her, I think any mother would have been straight in there after their child.

The well zombie was gross, I think they sent Glen down as he's the most agile, have no idea why they didn't at least try to lassoo it from the top first though spb.
