I think in the wonderful world that is Mystic Falls, we can all be married to Damon & not have to worry about sharing! Wink
I worry about my sanity that I love Vampire Diaries so much! I'm 42 & should be listening to Radio 4 or watching something equally grown up - but the Vamps are just so much more fun.

TeamDamon · 02/11/2011 20:55

I have just turned 40, Bugsy - I am glad I have someone similarly aged to share the love with Grin

I used to worry about my love for Buffy, Angel, Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl but now I just embrace it. If turning 40 has taught me one thing, it's that life's too short to worry about what you should be doing. I've had more enjoyment out of any one episode of Vampire Diaries than I have out of all my forays into Radio 4 and that's a fact! Grin

Bugsy2 · 02/11/2011 20:58

I feel better now. I thought you were probably about 25! I can't do Radio 4 at all - keep trying because I think I ought to, but just makes me feel old. I find Vampire Diaries a bit scary sometimes too. Have to switch all the lights on when I go upstairs afterwards.

TeamDamon · 02/11/2011 21:05

I only switch the lights on to make sure that if Damon is around I definitely spot him Grin

How old is Ian Somerhalder? Are we OK to lust or is it verging on the inappropriate and icky?

Example: I am a teacher and while I will happily drool over Marlon Brando in Streetcar Named Desire with my students - filmed when he was 27 - their obsession with One Direction (average age: about 18?) leaves me cold and faintly nauseous.

Bugsy2 · 02/11/2011 21:17

I think we are ok lusting after Ian Somerhalder. He is about 33/34. In fact, I'm sure if he knew us in real life he would be married to us!! Wink One Direction are nauseous & vomit inducing and utterly unfanciable. Stanley Kowalski on the other hand was/is hot.

TeamDamon · 02/11/2011 21:28

Well, that's true. I know he only has to meet us to fall in love with us - what on earth would he see in the slim, beautiful, talented, young Nina Dobrev in comparison?? Hmm Grin

But that is a perfectly respectable age difference. Although I am now worrying about what my fondness for bloodthirsty predator Damon Salvatore and wife beating rapist Stanley Kowalski says about me Blush

They only have naice men on Radio 4, you know.

Bugsy2 · 02/11/2011 21:37

Nina has nothing on me I tell you! Why would the dashing Damon prefer a smooth, toned, silky haired goddess, when he could have a yummy mummy tired, dimply bottomed, sun damaged old bird?
All the men I fancy on TV are extremely damaged - the young Sean Connery or Daniel Craig as James Bond (another ruthless killer) is one of my faves!

busymummy3 · 02/11/2011 22:05

well my DD is absolutely obssessed with the vampire diaries she has both season 1 and 2 on dvd and spends days on end watching them! she is just uncontrollable on tuesday nights with excitement and wont shut up about it the next morning. once i found her crying her eyes out because damon nearly died - whether this is something to worry about or not i am unsure. apparently last nights episode was amazing for many reasons - one of them being how "fit" Damon and Tyler are (cant say that i disagree Wink) and she now has all her friends watching it and they have "vampathons" on a weekend. she now wants an ian somerhalder calendar for christmas and has just spotted the £29 team damon pj's in DamnDeDoubtance's link. Cheers!
where this obsession will end i do not know! Smile

DamnDeDoubtance · 03/11/2011 15:10

Another 40 year old here! The best bit is that my obsession was passed to me by my 63 year old mum. Grin

I also love True Blood.

SciFiFan · 03/11/2011 21:23

I am also early 40's and unashamedly Vampire obsessed - Damon, Edward, Spike I luv 'em all Grin.

Like Team I used to be embarrassed but no more - age does give you confidence.

As for the original question....

Alaric - Marry (just coz it couldn't be the other two)
Stefan - shag (why not)
Tyler - shoot (I just couldn't)

Can I have Damon at the weekend if we're sharing?

TeamDamon · 03/11/2011 21:38

Can't work out if I have to share Tyler with anyone or if you've all shot him, but I draw the line at full moons Grin

Love the fact that we are all in our 40s!

All you shagging Stefan, just make sure you're ready for the deep and meaningful analysis afterwards. At least when we get our turn with Damon, it's just bubble baths, Scotch and lovely, naughty, guilt-free shagging Grin Grin

GothAnneGeddes · 04/11/2011 00:55

Buuuuut aside from all the man candy, Vampire Diaries is actually really, really good. Much better than the very over-hyped and supposedly "adult" True Blood.

The plot and character development is excellent, especially as Season One took so long to get going. What they've done with Caroline and Tyler's characters is brilliant and I'm loving the ghost story, I'm glad Anna's back.

SciFiFan · 04/11/2011 10:59

I agree Goth - I enjoy True Blood but am loving TVD. The storyline is so much more developed. And with Damon as an additional bonus it's unmissable Grin.

He's even overtaken my Edward and Spike obsessions which is pretty hard to do.

DamnDeDoubtance · 04/11/2011 13:43

LOVE all vampires, Buffy, Being Human etc.

Not to keen on the sparkly vampires, though I read the books, felt dirty afterwards. Grin

God, can you imagine if Edward and Stefan were together in a room, they could have a brooding competition.

Bugsy2 · 04/11/2011 14:23

Bit too much angst in the Twilight stuff to make it really enjoyable. They need to be more dirty IMO!!!!! RPatz doesn't do it for me either - probably just as well, given he could nearly be son.

SciFiFan · 04/11/2011 16:12

Don't forget Angel DamnDe he could do a fair brood himself!!

DamnDeDoubtance · 04/11/2011 16:22

God yes, Angel could get his brood on when he wanted to.

TeamDamon · 04/11/2011 16:23

Yes - but Twilight takes itself soooooo seriously. Joss knew how to take the piss out of his characters when necessary - Cordelia's brilliant put-downs of Buffy: couldn't Bella do with a Cordelia to burst her teenage-angsty bubble once in a while? And what about ?

I agree that TVD is so much better than True Blood. I love the Charlaine Harris books but the series has gone so far from them, and the storylines seem so disjointed from one another, that I was really disappointed with the last season.

SciFiFan · 04/11/2011 16:33

Spike mocking Angel has to be one of the funniest bits. I also loved the Italy episode where Angel comes back with the most grotesque leather jacket. Love it! And lets not forget Grin

DamnDeDoubtance · 04/11/2011 20:22

The Angel episode where he is turned into a puppet is the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Buffy is the best for me, the dialog and banter between the characters.

Plus such a strong female lead. Lovedy-loved-it!

How about this for the perfect duo!

SciFiFan · 04/11/2011 21:35

You know I have a friend with a replica Angel puppet from Smile Time Smile. It even has a removable nose Grin.

I agree re the dialogue in Buffy. Joss was/is a god with a script. I like that he learnt all his swear words when he attended school in the UK. Some of the british ones escaped the US censoring Grin.

TeamDamon · 04/11/2011 21:49

Yes: was always v. amused that Spike was able to say 'bollocks' and 'wanker' with impunity!

One of my favourite Angel scenes is where a girl asks him to dance at Cordelia's party and he has a vivid flash of what his dancing is like, and then replies, deadpan, 'I don't dance.'

One of my favourite lines of dialogue in Buffy is where Buffy asks Spike to explain in five words what he is doing outside her house, and he replies 'Out. For. A. Walk. Bitch.'

Let's face it, BTVS was the vampire show par excellence. No-one can match Joss. What about the musical episode? - the sheer ballsiness of it.

DamnDeDoubtance · 04/11/2011 22:50

Oh My Gods, the musical episode was gobsmackinglybrilliant!

I have my favorite Buffy seasons, some worked better than others, but there was always a jewel in every season.

TeamDamon · 05/11/2011 14:18

Came back to cheer myself up after just reading a bunfight about how lazy teachers are - brought you all a picture Grin
