As all the other threads seem to have died off I thought I'd start a new one in anticipation of this Friday's first live show.

I have to say I'm not too bothered about the Celebs this year, but then again I'm more interested in watching the professionals anyway!

The line up for each of the two shows has been announced (from BBC website):

On Friday 30th September the couples performing for the first time on live television will be:

?Alex
?Anita
?Audley
?Dan
?Lulu
?Robbie
?Russell

Then on Saturday 1st October the couples performing for the first time together will be:

?Chelsee
?Edwina
?Harry
?Holly
?Jason
?Nancy
?Rory

Please note the running order has yet to be confirmed. The celebrities have been listed above in alphabetical order.

They will dance either a Waltz or a Cha Cha Cha, but I'm not 100% sure who is doing what.

My overriding thought in the run up for the series so far has been "I hope the wardrobe department come up with some decent foundations for poor Chelsee!"
That outfit they've put her in for the promo shots makes her boobs look humungous Shock

Anyone else care to share their thoughts in advance?

both too. It looked so much fun! I could do 2 spins in classes years ago. More than that just looks unnatural.Hmm

CaveMum · 10/10/2011 11:21

Same here, 2, maybe 2 and a half on on my own and I once managed 5 with a partner, but I put that down to a freak occurrence!

I think Vincent says all that stuff in a very tongue-in-cheek way. I thought it was quite funny that when Edwina made it very clear how much she appreciated his ... charms, he seemed to go a bit shy. Think he can dish it out but not really take it when it gets serious! He may have met his match.

I agree James and Ola are excellent teachers, and Robin, but Aliona isn't. Her attitude of not listening to the judges is immature, silly and unprofessional, not to mention unhelpful to her partner. I'm glad Len called her on it on the show.

AitchTwoOh · 10/10/2011 12:02

oh i always think vincent is totally joking about that stuff, and agree he looked absolutely mortified by edwina pawing at him. typical italian. (love italians Grin).

Pan · 10/10/2011 12:09

oh Vincente is playing to the stereo-typical gallery with that sort of stuff. Had moments of sympathy when flavia dumped him for the Eastend boy a few years ago. (she gets round on the show, doesn't she?).

Aliona - nice hair colour. I just like looking at her.Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 12:13

I never realised until quite recently that after she left Vincent for Matt Di Angelo (and moved in with him?) she now lives with Jimi Mistry? Did they dance together? I don't think so......

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 12:13

'she' being Flavia...

Pan · 10/10/2011 12:15

I think they did dance together, Biscuit.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/10/2011 12:16

Yes, they did dance together, but I had no idea they were an item!! How did I miss that? Must have had my head in a cupboard since the last series ...

onequestion · 10/10/2011 12:18

Hasn't Vincent got a bit of a bad reputation for cheating though? I thought he cheated on his gf when pregnant, left her and then went back to her when his son was born. Of course that could just have been what the trashy mags were saying but I don't feel too sorry for him.

So pleased Edwina is out! Ghastly!

Pan · 10/10/2011 12:19

Mr Mistry was in the audience on Saturday. Keeping an eye on Russell Grant, obv.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/10/2011 12:21

I saw Mistry in the audience but assumed he was just there as an ex-contestant.

I'm so naive.

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 12:24

Weird - I remember Jimi being on it, but have no recollection of it being with Flavia - don't know who I think he was with though - still I'm pregnant I can't be expected to remember things :)

But I am sure F&J are an item. So I wonder how much Jimi slipped the BBC team to make sure she had a gay partner this time around Wink

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/10/2011 12:26

I think they were kicked out pretty early.

Pan · 10/10/2011 12:37

Lady - in the interview with Tess right at the start, she asked them how it went with all of the difficulties (wk 1 with the boa thing) and as an aside, though serious sounding she said " and having to dance with him.." Anton just ignored it because there was a microphone opportunity t oattend to. She was still angry at him for some error 'he' had made on the dancefloor.
Self-awareness - 0.

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 10/10/2011 12:40

Ooooh. Humourless as well as can't really dance, eh? Or perhaps it was meant to be funny and didn't come across; she is quite deadpan.

I hope Nancy goes soon, but I do feel a bit sorry for her as Anton semes to go out of his way to make a mockery of her.

When she gets something wrong he goes into a sort of comedy parody sort of thing and really emphasises everything, whereas any other professional would try to get their sleb back on the straight and narrow. I think he's being a bit mean to her and not really helping. Although no doubt it was a bit like 'wrestling a tiger out there' as he put it :)

It's almost as if Anton has had rubbish partners for so long, he's forgotten how to do the competition properly.

2BoysTooLoud · 10/10/2011 12:46

Or perhaps Anton is taking the piss so much as he dances he truly is letting Nancy down? Maybe she speaks the truth?
In the first week Len I felt told Anton off a bit [deservedly in my opinion] for messing about during the dance. He said something like Anton didn't have to treat Nancy like a joke partner.

2BoysTooLoud · 10/10/2011 12:47

cross posts Biscuitsandtea!

Biscuitsandtea · 10/10/2011 12:47

But great minds eh two boys? :)

2BoysTooLoud · 10/10/2011 12:50

Anton needs his bottom smacked and should take things more seriously.
Poor Nancy!
Great minds indeed Biscuitsandtea.

CeliaFate · 10/10/2011 15:12

Vincent had a fling with Kristina Rhianoff, she ended it when she found out he had a girlfriend, who has subsequently gone on to have his child. Confused

bebeballroom · 10/10/2011 16:38

Didn't jimi and flavia go out of strictly at Blackpool? Or am I remembering that wrong, didn't he think he was loads better than he actually was? Confused
