Strictly Come Dancing 2011

As all the other threads seem to have died off I thought I'd start a new one in anticipation of this Friday's first live show.

I have to say I'm not too bothered about the Celebs this year, but then again I'm more interested in watching the professionals anyway!

The line up for each of the two shows has been announced (from BBC website):

On Friday 30th September the couples performing for the first time on live television will be:

?Alex
?Anita
?Audley
?Dan
?Lulu
?Robbie
?Russell

Then on Saturday 1st October the couples performing for the first time together will be:

?Chelsee
?Edwina
?Harry
?Holly
?Jason
?Nancy
?Rory

Please note the running order has yet to be confirmed. The celebrities have been listed above in alphabetical order.

They will dance either a Waltz or a Cha Cha Cha, but I'm not 100% sure who is doing what.

My overriding thought in the run up for the series so far has been "I hope the wardrobe department come up with some decent foundations for poor Chelsee!"
That outfit they've put her in for the promo shots makes her boobs look humungous Shock

Anyone else care to share their thoughts in advance?

I think someone who obviously is never going to be a dancer but throws themselves into it and is having a time of their lives goes a long way for me than someone who is a more adept dancer but can understand why people who know what they are looking at get frustrated

No, think Jo Wood was worst female celeb...or that itv presenter woman (can't remember name).

I feel ok perving over Harry...so shall continue! :o (I'm 28, so I don't think that's too bad right?!)

ALSO I thought last week that Robbie Savage = massive twat, but this week I was pleasantly surprised. Those little steps at the start of his foxtrot were lovely.

Why do people not like Nancy? Must admit I haven't a clue who she is, haven't a clue about dancing either. I do like Anton though.

I think Kate Garaway, Fiona Phillips and Widdy are tied for worst female.

I always look forward to the salsa but am always dissapointed. The music choices are dreadful. I wouldn't mind dancing salsa with Artem though.

Jo Wood was a horrific dancer - she could barely stand. But Fiona Philips was awful too, and Jan Ravens was a terrible dancer and deluded and nasty with it. And who was that shocking dancer Brendan had a few years ago?

I'm afraid I enjoyed Widdy Blush. I like that kind of self-deprecating humour. Russell has it too.

Widdy annoyed me, not just because she couldn't dance. But she didn't try & was all 'I can't do that move, I can't possibly do that, I ^won't do this, I won't do that, it is indecent'! Hmm Angry Silly woman!! (Rant over)

Why was Jason so serious when he got to Tess's room? YOu'd have thought he'd be ecstatic. Find that annoying about him (esp in the slow voice).

I am starting to get annoyed about how little time the dancers actually seem to be in hold for.. I don't know if they've changed the rules but am sure before it had to sort of be two thirds in but this series it feels that if you look away (to make sure DD is eating her cheeseburger for example Blush) by the time you've looked back, they're out of hold, faffing about again!

But, on the positive - love Jason and don't care if he's a bit serious, think he's just that way tbh... I spotted his weirdness around Kristina on ITT but then I always think that the pros sometimes forget not everyone is as comfortable with the close body contact that they're used to everyday - and she did look like she got pretty close to his inner thigh Grin (not that I blame her!)... he was pretty up for it in the dance and promo though!!

I hope it's Nancy that goes tomorrow - she is pretty poor and doesn't seem that great although could be Lulu as she's not doing well and isn't very likeable either (or could just be me!)... I loved Robbie this week, thought he looked very very stylish although agree with someones comments about his hair - why not tie it back or something..? Also loving Russell - is genuinely slipping some good dance steps in and enjoying it beyond belief... I reckon he's going to go some distance, which makes me happy for Flavia (don't they seem to just have an adorable relationship!)

Other than that, I just can't seem to get that excited about any of them which is a bit odd but perhaps once they start getting whittled down a bit, might start to care a bit more!

Bring on tomorrow - Lulu or Nancy to go, I think!

Loved tonight's show - Lots of it made me really smile. Loved Russell Grin and also Chelsee (which I was surprised by).

Yes Skillbo, I was really surprised when they said how much they liked Robbie's (it was Robbie with the umbrella wasn't it?) foxtrot opening. I thought that looked basically how the American Smooth's usually look, but without lifts.

And I'm sure until last year they couldn't do lifts in the salsa. (I know it isn't a ten dance etc. but I'm sure they didn't used to be allowed). Please tell me I'm not cracking up!
