Strictly Come Dancing 2011

As all the other threads seem to have died off I thought I'd start a new one in anticipation of this Friday's first live show.

I have to say I'm not too bothered about the Celebs this year, but then again I'm more interested in watching the professionals anyway!

The line up for each of the two shows has been announced (from BBC website):

On Friday 30th September the couples performing for the first time on live television will be:

?Audley
?Dan
?Lulu
?Robbie
?Russell

Then on Saturday 1st October the couples performing for the first time together will be:

?Chelsee
?Edwina
?Harry
?Holly
?Jason
?Nancy
?Rory

Please note the running order has yet to be confirmed. The celebrities have been listed above in alphabetical order.

They will dance either a Waltz or a Cha Cha Cha, but I'm not 100% sure who is doing what.

My overriding thought in the run up for the series so far has been "I hope the wardrobe department come up with some decent foundations for poor Chelsee!"
That outfit they've put her in for the promo shots makes her boobs look humungous

Anyone else care to share their thoughts in advance?

Bet one of the judges goes on about the faffing around at the beginning

Edwina - timing was ok but Overall a bit dull really! You could tell by Vincent's hand position that he was steering her all over the floor. I do wish they'd stop with the props and the faffing!

Anita looks like the liquorice allsorts character

Audley - hmm, he seems to have body rhythm but not in his feet! Very clunky and the music was awful for a salsa. Use proper salsa music and more actual salsa steps, not disco!

I always wonder that - am in no way a dancer but they dont seem to do much of the actual dance steps...he does dance like a boxer doesnt he...

Very Disco, not very Salsa at all (what do I know though ) Guess it must be tricky with super large feet!

I'd say 5 possibly 6 coz he enjoyed it! :)

The problem with Strictly is that what they actually dance is a cabaret style rather than what you would learn if you took a dance class, so they do add a lot of faffing about into the routine

They aren't paying her enough to sit on Prescott's lap & kiss him surely?!!

I assume it is so they "stars" dont have to do too much dancing...

Alex - not bad, bit of gapping at times and her posture did falter a bit, but much better than her Cha Cha from last week.

Dan - first of all, what's with the flipping disco music?! Anyway, that had more salsa steps than the last routine, still needs to work on his posture, though that's not too important in salsa, but a bit clunky. Lots of smiles and effort though.

I don't get the Dan Lobb thing either. I mean, he seems like a nice bloke but that's as far as it goes!

Lulu - got to say she is a very bad match height wise for Brendan. She took wrong steps at several points and posture was iffy at times. Much better than last week, but couldn't have been any worse! She needs to work harder to stay in.
