oes anyone on here get really stupidly obsessive about a television programme or film?

I get disks from "Lovefilm", and I usually watch them once, maybe watch a bit of the commentary or extras, then send it back to get the next one.

But I got the first episode of "Hornblower" starring Ioan Gruffudd and it's utterly obsessed me! Last couple of days, I have watched it morning noon and night. I could probably give a blow by blow account of every scene and have memorised some of the dialogue. Can't say I understand all the Naval jargon but that's the next thing on the list to do, that and read the entire works of C S Forester who wrote those books. And I want to go back to Dundee where there's a ship from that era and you can wander round it. I want to do that and half shut my eyes and pretend I'm on the ship in the film.

Today I had to get the children to stage an intervention and MAKE me seal up the "Lovefilm" envelope. But a weasly part of my mind is thinking... I have spare envelopes... I could rip it open just one last time.

Does anyone else get like this?

I didn't know Supersizers was back on! Angry Am recording the 70s and Elizabethan but am a bit annoyed to have missed the others. I LOVE Black Books, particularly the one where Bernard is locked out of the shop and has a long dark night of the soul wandering round town. Grin

Bit late to this but slightly (ok a lot) obsessed with trueblood, twilight (!) and.. teen wolf the series.. I surprised even myself with the last one, but I can sum it up in one picture here

MrsDmitriTippensKrushnic · 02/09/2011 18:49

Teen Wolf surprised me too. I watched it because...well, it's the sort of sad thing I watch, but it was actually pretty good! Grin

And I have to agree, best looking Derek ever.

cheerful it just felt like 'I've watched all these episodes and spent hours pondering on what it was all about and this is it?' I think tbh any ending wouldn't have been as good as the earlier episodes but at least i was distracted by oogling sawyer

DamnDeDoubtance · 02/09/2011 19:15

I was obsessed with the A team as a kid.

Then Buffy, which I still love, the dialogue is superb.

Now its Battlestar Galactica, True Blood and I am currently obsessed with series 2 of The Vampire Diaries.

When I was pregnant I was really into Charmed. Blush

AmazingBouncingFerret · 02/09/2011 19:25

Buffy is my comfort blanket, whenever i'm feeling shitty I can guarantee i'll feel better after several episodes while snuggled up on sofa with some chocolate!

I was obsessed with Dawsons Creek when I was a teenager.

ATM it's TrueBlood every week (hate having to wait a week till the next episode!) and i'm also watching about 4 episodes of That 70's Show a night. I'm currently on season 3.

Oh shit, nearly forgot, Harry Potter. I sometimes read fanfiction on that and when in my early twenties I frequented a fan chat site and met some of my closest friends on there!

ladyclarice I think my fave BB is the one where they "make" some wine to replace a really expensive one they drank by mistake Grin v v v funny.

Supersizers has been on the past 3 weeks on Friday at 8 on BBC3/4 - cant remember which one!

I loved buffy. So much so that when the last ever epsiode aired - when in labour with ds1 - I refused to go to hospital until it finished! Smile

Oh, and Twilight of course! New film out on Nov 18th!

I love threads like this

I loved Buffy and Babylon 5.

Does anyone remember Quantum Leap? I watched show religiously right up to the totally CRAP ending that now means that I can't watch any repeats as SAM DOESN'T GET HOME. HE DIES. :(

Currently I just love NCIS (Mark Harmon. Yum), True Blood, The Vampire Diaries (come on SEason 3. I love you Damon!) and have just started watchin Lost Girl.

Sam died? Wow, never knew that! Shock

tippytap · 02/09/2011 19:51

Oh God!

I feel like the Anti-Father Christmas or something.

I was just so gutted that he didn't get home to get married to that woman he loved.

Becaroooo · 02/09/2011 19:54

SugarSkyHigh · 02/09/2011 20:03

I loved the series called Party Animals about political aides or something.... it had Matt Smith in before he got to be Dr Who, but it was the other guy i really loved - think he was his brother, and was scrummy [groin]

AHem, tippytap- Quantum leap has been mentionedGrin

Pinkheart- I too love dexter- this season has just flown by. Unlike last year which dragged out a little.

tippytap · 02/09/2011 20:31

Always good to find another fan, Secret :)

HappyTangerine · 02/09/2011 21:11

I'd forgotten about Quantum Leap. Does anyone remember a really sinister episode with a white goat and the devil?

Just remembered another one - The Last Train,it was on ITV yonks ago and had Ruth from Spooks in it.

I have never watched an episode of The West Wing and having just seen the price of the box set on amazon, am sorely tempted!
