Can someone explain to me the bit between Calinda and Blake and Will?

Did Will tell Blake to kneecap the witness - but only metaphorically and Blake did it - literally??

And Blake is trying to set up Calinda for it? And Calinda is trying to set Blake up for it?

Who's the God-bothering daughter then? Her.

DontHassleTheBOF · 21/05/2011 00:11

Although, now you mention it, I don't trust Big...

Italiangreyhound · 21/05/2011 00:54

Do you mind if I chip in, please? I absolutely love the show. It is great.

PfftTheMagicDragon it's funny you saying about Peter not being in the episode, it did not strike me at the time but now, I think, yes where was he on election night! Could they not just have just photo-shopped him in!

There was one bit that was odd. JM was talking to their client (the daughter of the oil production king thing) and we see the daughter arrive and then the whole brief conversation we just see the back of her head and JM's face. It just looked like she had shimmied off and there was a body double in place! Anyone else notice it?

Bue I agree, JM acted really well at the end of the programme! I really though that would be the end of the rumours and then boom it was out there!

DontHassleTheBOF I think that when it was a rumour, hubby and some random colleague, it was something she could dismiss but once there was a name, Leela, and she knows that Leela is Kalinda, because of the whole Blake element, I think it just clicked for her.

DontHassleTheBOF · 21/05/2011 01:13

You are probably right. I think if it were me, the betrayal by Kalinda would be even worse than sleazy MrBig.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 21/05/2011 18:29

I have seen the finale and liked it.

I don't think that alicia will go to work with MJF - her place is at LG, and there wouldn't be much of a show without her there. I think that next season will see a lot more of MJF (I think he works quite well as a character) as the antagonist, and I hope the show does better next year than it did this year, with the likes of Bond.

I think that Alicia believed the Kalinda thing so easily for a number of reasons. She knows both Peter and Kalinda as well as anyone can. She already suspected that they had been together (in season 1, she asked Kalinda outright what she was doing visiting Peter in prison and if they had ever had sex). She doesn't trust Peter. Well, who would, the guy is a lying twat waffle. She knew that Kalinda had a lot of things to hide with the Leela thing, and finally - I suppose that the two of them having sex was very believable.

vjg13 · 22/05/2011 18:10

How many episodes are left? The last one was brilliant.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 22/05/2011 18:45

If you have just seen the election episode with the dodgy Peter double, then there are three left.

vjg13 · 22/05/2011 18:53

Thanks Smile. Will be away for the last two. Just hope the V+ box doesn't pack up!

chickieno1 · 22/05/2011 20:35

Hiya! Can I join in? Best show on at the moment! I think there's more to the Peter and Kalinda story, it ll all come out in the next season I predict

tribpot · 22/05/2011 21:12

Welcome one and all! Kalinda clearly has a complex back story still to come out - no mention recently of her husband, or where the hell Blake has gone to.

Hoping we do see MJF again soon, I think his character is great and I'm really pleased they've managed to write his Parkinson's in effectively. I wonder where The Good Wife is filmed? I know when he was in Spin City it was important for him to film in New York because his family were there.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 22/05/2011 22:02

I think TGW is filmed in New York.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 22/05/2011 22:24

I read that JM made it a condition of taking the role that it be filmed in NY as that is where she and her family live.

tribpot · 22/05/2011 22:29

Yup seems like it.

Italiangreyhound · 22/05/2011 22:30

I really like the MJF character because he is so 'nasty' and mean and yet we know it is really the man from back to the Future and The Hard way
www.imdb.com/title/tt0102004/

here

So he is really nice. Oh yes and he was in that thing with the president too!

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 23/05/2011 09:05

I have never liked MJF, in fact would avoid things he was in I found him that irritating, but he is good in this, his character is hard to read and adds to the all round intrigue.

Bue · 23/05/2011 10:43

The more episodes I see with MJF (what is the character's name anyway?) the more I think he isn't actually nasty, just a really effective lawyer. I wouldn't say I'm warming to him, but I enjoy his complexity.

Does anyone else have a favourite judge? I love 'in your opinion' lady! Grin

PfftTheMagicDragon · 23/05/2011 11:41

The quirky judges are one of the few things that I don't like about the show. I appreciate that they are quite sparing with them, but even so, they grate. This pretty much sums it up for me.

The only judge I find appealing in any way is the liberal male one, and he was pushing it with the giving blood stuff.

MJF's character is called Louis Canning.

Bue · 23/05/2011 15:30

Yes I agree that it's a bit Ally McBeal and perhaps slightly "beneath" the show. But I get a kick out of it!

That's a great little slide show. Do they like anything about the show? :) I do hate all the internet and social media "down with the kidz" stuff. It's really over the top and doesn't ring true in the slightest! And the show tries way too hard too hard with the "real" storylines, Social Network, etc.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 23/05/2011 20:28

Grin Actually, they really like the show - but I think that when a show is otherwise so good, the small things annoy you more than they should, because the show deserves better, IYSWIM. I do love the TWoP photo reels though.

I do find the internet stuff embarrassing. When Grace is watching the young Christian online, urgh, it was cringy. I read an interview with the creators who say that they have no intention of stopping the current event storylines, they like them and they think that they work.

I can still put up with all that stuff though, I love the show enough to ignore it. It's really surprised me these last two years.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 23/05/2011 20:44

DH and I sit and count how many times Apple products are prominently featured too.

Italiangreyhound · 23/05/2011 21:59

I quite like the Internet stuff, especially the Peter Florrick song at the start of series two!

The quirky judges I can do with out but the army one who was doing a 'purge' was very funny!

tribpot · 26/05/2011 23:24

Good good - a Patty Nyholm episode, I always enjoy those. Martha Plimpton is so deliciously amoral in them. And well done Alicia for taking some action against Peter, even if it is a bit unbelievable that you can lease a flat in the middle of the night :)

NoelEdmondshair · 27/05/2011 06:09

and where did she get all those packing boxes from?

tribpot · 27/05/2011 08:09

Well I can imagine Alicia being the sort of woman who does keep a set of packing boxes flatpacked for emergencies or closet clear-outs. And in fairness with a husband like that you'd want to stay prepared, wouldn't you!

PfftTheMagicDragon · 27/05/2011 08:21
Grin

With a husband like that, I'd have my divorce lawyer on speed dial.
