does anyone remember one in the first couple of series with a load of blood handprints on the walls made by a child that Grace had to go through? was a very early one, and has stuck with me for years.

The smaller characters (the nurse, her partner) are so removed from the rest that I can't find it in me to care if they are involved or not.

It has really gone downhill and has become sillier and sillier, true. But it's still entertaining.

The nurse and her partner are so removed - surely they have to be involved with the money or something but they hardly appear so don't really seem like real characters.

The mother must have Munchausen by Proxy or something along those lines

mother must have munchausen I agree. almost like she caused the cancer in the daughter by taking her to several doctors for CT scans - the high levels of radiation causing the cancer maybe?
