Yes, Grace seems to be the same age as the ex-girlfriend's dad in the present. Perhaps working all those years with Boyd has aged her excessively!

Then Piers goes off to war and comes back a peace loving lefty. Gets in with BlondieBonnie and leaves DuckFace behind. She doesn't take it well. Grace knew them all, and appears to have been a bit of a troublemaker in the 80's.

Piers goes missing, leaving BlondeBonnie pregnant, and she marries someone else who raises the child.

They find Piers in the sewers beneath DuckFaces house. Boyd is not allowed to question OlegTheRussian because MI5 tell him not to, he is making too much money for the government.

I dunno. I hate the ones where it could be anyone. If I had to guess I would go with someone with a close link, Bonnie or Duckface having something to do with it, but he was kneecapped. Maybe it was the three of the Cambridge friends, trying to keep something quiet?
